This is the first time I have heard someone describe Lloyd as a Seinen MC. Usually he gets thrown in the same bag as Rean being a Shounen MC. Due to the grudge everyone has against modern anime tropes that the later games use.

he definately has a bit of main character syndrome, but I think due to the world around him and his ability to think faster about situations and be an actual competent detective eek him out of falling into all the same trappings as lloyd

Localization is such a huge endeavor. Translating from one Romance language to another, like Spanish to Italian, is incredibly difficult, due to slang, anachronism, and context. Localizing from Japanese to English is even harder, especially when it comes to Japanese humor. Us westerners still scratch our heads when anime characters show up to a duel with a sleeping bag. These translators have done remarkable work, and absolutely deserve all the credit you give them. While these games aren't really my style (I'm old), I definitely respect the work they did. Great review! Keep up the good work, Kraft! What's on the agenda before the new year?

Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed the video, localisation is definately an art in its own right one that so many aren't great at but geofront really did such a great job bringing this game to life and I wholely respect them for it as for the future I'm not sure, I had a bunch of falcom stuff planned but this video was like a month late (oops) and if I try and keep to my old schedule it'll have a knock on effect, I still need to complete my cold steel challenge run tho so I'll probably get that done by the end of the year and I had an idea for a weird non jrpg video recently that I wanna do next

I do find Trails from Zero slow burn in the beginning diffcult but i keep going on with it to wait for the pay off and so i can play Azure as well

Yeah the first game in every trails arc can feel a bit like that for some but they always worth it

You can infact start here Me who's played the sky series: If you start here your missing out on important explainations you won't get and the Renne plot points won't feel like much without the sky games getting you attached to her So i wouldn't recommend starting here either start at sky FC or Cold steel 1 as there's no dangling plot threads from the crossbell arc in Cold Steel 1

I mean i stick by the fact you should start with sky not for continuity but because its the best arc in the series But i also believe zero is A starting point ... its just not one of the best ones The only one that is worse is cold steel 3 which i think IS a starting point, its a really rubbish one that i wouldnt recommend

Is it worth to buy this now and start the series with this and azure or should i wait for a console relase of the first trilogy of games?

the ceo has stated he wants to do full remakes of the sky trilogy but I think they're a ways off still (2026 in japan at the absolute earliest but I doubt it'll be that soon) the sky trilogy is running off an engine from 2004 that can run on a PSP so it runs on practically anything its really easy to just hook a laptop to a PC via HDMI and play with a controller and I would recommend doing that. Not just because Trails from Zero ends on of the bigger character arcs from the sky games, but because the sky trilogy is the imo the best and the one that made me fall in love with the series. if you want to toe dip into the series I recommend either waiting for trails through daybreak this july or giving cold steel 1 and 2 a go and jumping back in time if you're interested starting with CS1 can be a bit rough since it was falcoms first fully 3d game with a 360 camera so it feels very cheap in places but 2 is alot better and the story in 1 and 2 is pretty standalone (right up until the epilogue)
