Yeah, and she and Rean had the same end goal, so she could've been a powerful ally, not to mention she could've had some bonding moments, not only with Duvalie, but also Rean, because of how she regretted dying and not having kids of her own with Dreichels back during the War of the Lions, and how both Rean and the Stahlritter felt like the children she wanted. The moment that really touched me was the revelation that she kept an eye on Osborne and baby Rean, and her guilt over not stopping Osborne from linking with Ishmelga.
Unfathomed Force is a great theme but it served it's purpose already. At this stage, we already know a lot of powerful fighters and Arianrhod is no longer a "mysterious powerful being".
Come think of it the kiseki series is incredibly layered. On the surface this is a story about groups of brave people rejecting absolute power granted by the goddess, in favour of a world built on humanity and bonds. (Estelle rejecting the ability of creation with aurelos and the opportunity to create the perfect humans, Lloyd refusing to let KiA re-write history to protect SSS, Rean rejecting the almighty power in favour of strengh through bonds). On the other hand every septerrion was corrupted by humanity (aurelos simply fulfilled human wishes, Demuguros was tainted by human greed, and the strife of man literally warped two septerrion into the personification of war). Was the goddess maleficent in giving human such power, or was she maleficent in giving human the potential for corruption? Or is evil simply a universal state of entropy which can't be stopped?
Yep, the "Empyreal Fortress/ Tuatha de Dannan" DEFINITELY seems to be amplifying the effects of the Great Twilight (You can tell from the fact that people are getting a symbol similar to that of the Great One in their eyes)
god after Hajimari seeing Rufus in CS4 acting like makes me wanna hate him again but still really great scene I loved it shame that we couldn't have playable Lianne
If only Lianne joined the group. Then we could've had some sweet interactions between her and Class VII, especially some mother/son moments with Rean. I think her brave order could be called Saint's Aura or something like that.
Fortunatly, they did not do that. Many characters that were supposed to die or be on the "vilain" side where in fact not so dead or not so vilainous or on the wrong side because they were manipulated. At least, allowing key characters to achived their fate, keeps the sense of tragedy that is underlying that story (war, treason etc...)

I feel like I've been playing the Trails series way too quickly. I didn't even realise people associated that song with Arianrhod. I mean, I guess I remember hearing it in Azure but it's all fuzzy, and I only played Azure, like, 2 weeks ago.
lol FINALLY, about time we see some real darkness in a villain or two. I love Steel Maiden as much as anyone but in wars that literally decides the fate of the world (or any geopolitical conflict in general), you'd expect people from all sides, especially the so called villains, to play dirty and actually be cutthroat about their actions. This is so refreshing given the tiring same old tropes in these games.
Omg! Arianrod was one of my favorite Trails characters! I still can't not be salty about her dying. Reviews i read beforehand was criticizing the game about deaths mean nothing in the game but all of a sudden a favorite character of mine got killed... I'm in the final chapter and searching yt in case she revives lol
Rufus: "Didn't anyone ever tell you not to let your guard down on a battlefield?" Me: "Uh, she had ALREADY been defeated... the rivalry used up her strength, so WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?!" Can't really call him out though, since I use the same logic
Don't think too ill about me with this, but it makes sense she go out like this. Before you berate me think about it. This entire game is all about " why did you do this on your own?" "Why didn't you come to me for help?" Again and again, that song and dance played. Arianrhod is the result of what would happen if Rean stuck to his guns bearing burdens that one alone cannot carry. Eventually, those burdens will crush you, or in this case pierce. I'm not saying she deserved such a demise, but stupidity like that has to be rewarded somehow. This is what happens when you do everything alone. Besides like most of the awakeners, she was living on borrowed time, and even if that wasn't the case for her, a being that contradicts reality itself should not exist. So no matter what the result of the rivalries would be, it is likely she'll disappear regardless.
Her death had nothing to do with trying to carry her burden alone. In fact, she was stabbed just as she was about to cooperate with Rean and the others. Besides, the whole game was all about giving someone a second chance to fix their mistakes, and Lianne was about to do just that. If you can't accept that trope, then this game might not be for you.
Her path led to this. Because she had no one to trust to watch her back, that's exactly where she got stabbed. Had she trusted her knights, half as much as Class VII trust each other, she'd still be alive. Like it or not, its her own fault, its just kinda messed up how it resulted.

I thought Cedric was bad, but then Rufus pulled this crap... I don't care if he redeemed himself in Hajimari. That was a complete waste of a 280 year old waifu.
More like a mom. She always felt like a mother to me, considering her relationship with the Stahlritter, and how she thought of Rean as the son she never had, but wished she could have. But yeah, I agree. Rufus is a sociopathic bastard who deserved to die.

well Arianrhod was going to die anyway, that's how the Rivalries work with the Immortals Their bond with their Divine Knights was the only thing keeping them alive. It was still a dick move on Rufus's part since the victory was Rean's and he swooped in like a vulture but it makes the later confrontation even more powerful especially since Jusis finally knocks him out
For some reason I lost motivation to play hajimari no kiseki knowing this ass is one of the protagonist xD Why don't they give me a game with Lianne playable better? I'll totally buy it

What Fiery Tiger Gaming said, especially here, since they implemented the berserk function after the 3rd turn. And depending on your RNG luck, he'll snap out of it quickly, or you'll have to use Curia, or Emma, Elliot, and Musse's crafts to snap him out of his feral state.
@@fierytigergaming8112 2 years late but that has no real weight in what Celica said? they wanted Rean to start off in Demon unchained in the fight. even if they started it off with just Rean getting the buffs for 3 turns then reverting. it still would have been better then starting him off in base. As EVERY OTHER TIME Rean transforms in cutscene before a fight you'll always have perminant spirit uni through the fight. I get he can't Control Demon unchained but still a disapointment they broke that rule especially after Rean says he's gonna give it his all.
