Ya unfortunately the gaming community is surrounded by casuals who only care about AAA games, graphics, and sales.

I think they are starting to finally be recognized in the west. In Japan, Falcom is well respected in rpg circles. However, in the west jrpgs is a niche genre and if Falcom can sell 1 million copies here, that's a pretty big accomplishment.

ZER0 graphics are nice . But i rather play stuff like madden 05 over things like madden 20 even though bgrapics are better

@@ZER0lPT I'm fine with Falcom spending their limited budget on the things that matter most in a jrpg (gameplay, story, character) rather than pretty graphics. In any event, with the new engine they're working on, their future games will probably look better.

@@milosplayz4049 not really surprising some people say its a drag when most new rpg games today dont even need 30 hours to finish. I even rushed this game from CS 1 to CS 3 just to catch up and it too me at least 40 to 50hrs each

TheNrat I kinda get that. Crow doesn’t have the big heart like those two though. Rean and Loewe always struggled with acknowledging their own strength because they can’t save everyone even though they’re easily among top 15 maybe even top 10 in strongest trails characters

Yeah me too I was so depressed when I finished cold steel 3 and could not wait for part 4 but after playing ff7 I just cant function,I cant get hype for any game maybe part 4 will be what ff7 did for cold steel 3

While waiting for tocs4 to come out, more time to play the previous games (trails in the sky, trails to zero, trails of azure)

@@taufiqaiman9133 I would say, it takes around 6 months to beat all the games together on 100% (talking to every NPC every single time) including CS series, so there is not time enough. Except if you can play 24/7 without worries.

I salute you for the hardships you've been through waiting for the localizations of each games. I played Sky FC in 2014 and it's already hard for me waiting a year for SC (and the rest of course). Can't imagine those who waited for 4 years after seeing FC's ending

Yeah same.... Still, we should have them sometime soon. The game is only a maximum of 6 months or so from release.

Oh you played Sky without voice? Or do you plan to play with English dub?

@@herikhi7315 The steam version of Sky had only voices for Battle events. Hard to say if they will go for the same actors again.

@@brynphillips9957 ah I see, so i assume you don't know that there is JP voice patch (from EVO version) available out there? If you are one of Japanese dub purist like me, you will get hooked on Trails series voice acting

Maggie Lutey A bunch of people online are saying it’s just Marisha Ray sounding a bit weird/off, so I guess I’ll wait and see for future Laura clips/sound bites and make the call then. It is just one line after all I suppose.

Sounds like Laura trying not to cry. Then again I believe some people said some of the voices sounded off in CS3 trailers, but they sounded fine in game.

Lol part 3 is the longest. Took me over 100 hours, 20 more than part 2. Waiting a little doesn't hurt though. It kinda builds up the nostalgia. After waiting 2 years for part 3 to be released, playing it was like seeing old friends again after a long time away.

I'm jealous. By the time you finish CS4, the next game will probably be out , so no need to endure the wait like the rest of us lol.

@@lolRNG hehe yeah! :) i've been doing that for every long running series... I play the last Assassins Creed when the next is announced an comming out... (also when all the patches and DLC are done)... same for the Trails... I play the latest part when the next one is ready to arrive ;)

Trust me it IS, This is pretty much like the endgame of cold steel don't get me wrong, the trails series isn't ending anytime soon. it will go on for 20 years or so according to falcom

@@vincent8460 that's awesome news. I love being able to finish these games and still have sooo much material to enjoy. I think this might be my new favorite JRPG series. Bravely Default rivals it, but it may be taking a slight lead.

Word of warning in case you didnt know there are the Crossbell games (Trails from Zero, Trails to Azure) which you need to play before Cold Steel as they are happening at the same time as cold steel 1 and 2

@@vincent8460 Still sad though. There will never be anything like Cold Steel. This game to me is like DQVIII of the dragon quest series or the FFVII of the FF series. If you get what I mean. I don't find the other trails games exciting at all

only the coldsteel arc is on ps4 ... the older game is on pc/psp/vita. If you can't play on anything else than ps4 then start with Coldsteel 1. Playing the series from the start will give you a better experience tho... 1 Trails in the Sky FC 2 Trails in the Sky SC 3 Trails in the sky 3rd 4 Trails to Zero 5 Trails to Azure 6 Trails of Coldsteel 1,2,3,4

I highly doubt there will be a bundle since CS1 and 2 were done by Xseed and 3 and 4 are done bY NIS America It COULD happen, but its highly unlikely. You best chance would be a bundle of 1 and 2 then a bundle of 3 and 4. All 4 in 1 will probably only happen on steam.

At least the games aren't full price now. If you don't care about physical, I'm sure they will go on sale on PSN.

You're not supposed to start at Cold Steel regardless. Cold Steel 4 is actually the 9th game in the series.

I started with Cold Steel 1. You can figure things out pretty well from there. To fully appreciate everything (especially in Cold Steel 3) you would need to start with Trails in the Sky arc, then play the two Crossbell games (only available through emulating fan translations) then finally the Cold Steel games. I would suggest just starting with the Cold Steel arc.

You can start with whatever game strikes your interest the most - some things won't be perfect that way but you can still have tremendous fun and can always go an play the other games if you've fallen for the series. In general Sky 1, Cold Steel 1 or (controversial) cold steel 3 are the main entry points.

All three of this series is on PS4. Every game in the larger series (that has been released in English) is available on Steam.

@@marvelousmehki true publication order (rather than chronological order since some series overlap a little) Trails in the Sky 1,2&3 (PC - will run on pretty much any computer that is capable of being turned on) - The Crossbell games - Zero & Ao no kiseki. The crossbell games aren't officially in english however Falcom has been making a lot of noise about getting an english ps4 release for these games in the future - There are ways around this problem but... - Finally The trails of Cold Steel series 1,2,3 & 4. These are on Ps4 and PC
