if you've got the time then just do it. for the full experience start at sky, but i fell in love even though i started with cold steel 1. it's hard to describe but once the story takes off (takes 1-3 hours in cs1) you won't be able to stop playing.
One of the best JRPG series out there. I love the combat and the story is pretty solid for a Shonen style plot. Great world building in a setting that feels alive. Like things are happening all over the place, even in places you can't see. They do a pretty good job showcasing characters that aren't the main people, too. Overall, I'd say they're masterpieces. I love them dearly.
I do recomend it, really. Just remember that the first Sky game and the first Cold Steel games are very slow to ignite, but both of them end making you start the second game right away. Also, if possible, try to play the sky first, just so all the references in Cold Steel makes sense. XD
It's crazy how Sky 1 and CS 1 are both solid games in their own right but how they setup the following games/arcs really blows the water out of every other JRPG in the industry. They are truly absolutely epic. Zero/Azure are still my favorite by far tho.
I don't see anyone else talking about it, but Step Ahead gives me chills. The piano and jazzy nature of the song literally feels like it puts a pep into your step even if you're sitting on your ass.
I love them all but I have to say To become the foundation or an Era still my Favorite It just feels like everything coming together in that song and it just so epic.
@notmy cellphone Yeah, I've heard these. (Save for the 4th, which I'm listening to as I write this.) They're all great, I especially love "Ash Colored History."
Dreamy and Boisterous Holy land for sure. After playing through all 3 Sky games, the amount of hype in that final confrontation generated in part by that track is massive
I kinda liked the "Exceed!" track. When Rean witnessed Jaegers beating the shit out of his loved ones he just totally loses control of his sti... Erm... his "power" and starts going frenzy on that theme.
31:30 Man, Trails in the Sky is such an amazing game in every way... music, world building, narrative, story, characters... I love it. SC is my favorite game of all time.
I just beat Lorence on nightmare mode in Trails in the Sky FC Evolution on the Vita. That was a tough fight. And the work to restart it. Worth it though to see Lorence acknowledge Estelle's strength though. Can't wait to start SC Great series. Great music, great video.
@@JHarra06 Those games are sadly not localized, there was a remaster made but it's japan only i played the games using a fan translation patch on PC, Trails from zero has a VERY good patch made by the Geofront team it's very professional they are also making a patch for trails to azure but at the time i finished zero i could not wait and used an existing fan translation to play the game and it wasn't bad at all tbh
45:29 Trails from Zero is also a wonderful game. I'm currently at the begining of the 5th chapter of the game. Nihon Falcom is the bearer of RPG greatness nowadays.
to me, no track surpasses Merciless Savior in the series. But some tracks that should have made the list are definitely: - Azure Arbitrator - Enforcers super arrange - Atrocious Raid super arrange - Enormous Inner Strength - Solid as the Rock of Juno - Challenger Invited - Celestial Coalescence - Seven's Conflict -Excellion Krieg-
Love Decisive Collision (including the Cold Steel 3 version) and Silver Will, but even I got to admit, To Be Continued just blows them out of contention for the best Trails OST for me.
I like Risking everything, here we stand better but since it's virtually the same track just with a different intro, you're right, where is Atrocious Raid???
Sometimes its just about changing Things to Make the game feel fresh. Comparing the newer trails games to the older ones i wouldnt say that These are better just different every fighting style hat its positive and negative sides. I liked all of the and thats the Art for me.
Honestly i'd say erebonia arc has the weakest ost. A couple of gems here and there, but overall very generic and hardly memorable. While liberl have tons of osts that stick to me. Sensation Of Dancing With The Wind. Overdosing Heavenly Bliss. Town themes, Zeiss especially. Cradle Where Feelings Rest. Whereabouts of stars variations. Liber ark. Hollow light in the sealed land. Fate of fairies. And of course Silver will - probably the most iconic trails track ever, period. I'd say of liberl arc, 3rd has the weakest ost, but it still have goodies in it. Overall though? Everything was great, battle themes, locations and event mood-setters. I could be a bit biased because i started playing games in the proper order, but i doubt this is the case. I marathoned trails series in its entirety during last few months and aside from a several battle themes and ocassional couple mood-setting tracks i can't remember any of erebonia osts, despite finishing translated part of sen very recently (but the battle themest were great, especially regular). Location themes though? Meh. Most i can say, yeah it was there, something was playing in the background. Definitely not the case with liberl. In fact ost quality was my prime issue with the arc (well that, and ever prevalent school theme). And its a shame, overall i like erebonia so far, probably more than crossbell.
Repeated tracks, Maybe It Was Fated and Fateful Confrontation. Would've replaced one with Formidable Enemy from Zero, I was surprised it wasn't here. Good video though
Not as bad as me. I always try to end with an (or everyone's) S craft (if its the final boss) But I always do it too early or too late then suffer 0 CP or even restart the whole match :P (especially for final boss)
Missed opportunity for Silver Will super arrange. The inferior Silver Will Golden Wing instrumental was used instead. Literally just the intro song of SC without the vocals.
