Slovenian landscapes are wonderful but this train (an international one !) looks exactly as most Polish long-distance trains back in the 1990s and it is also a very slow one. For instance here in Poland an intercity train from Warsaw to Tarnów (via Kraków) covers the same distance (370 km) in just 3 hours and 40 minutes ...
It's a constant complaint here, the travel times with trains, but have you seen the landscape? It's all hills, valleys and rivers and roads were given priority in 90s, which for that route are mostly bridges and tunnels. Additional issue is that Slovenia shares electrification spec only with Italy. Slovenia uses 3kv DC, Austria 15kv AC, Hungary and Croatia 25kv AC. EDIT: WIthin country you mostly see: sl.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C5%BD_serija_610/615 sl.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C5%BD_serija_310/316
1:29 Recycling of an old locomotive. Its name comes from the operating principle: Leo These were originally of the Ward-Leonard system. It was a temporary solution before the silicon rectifier locomotives (V43 now Class 430, 431, 432, 433). The current task of the Leos is to supply the trains with electricity. For this, the 25KV voltage of the electric overhead line is converted to 1.5kV. A device commonly used on the MÁV network. 1:37 a control car. The Class 433 locomotive was designed and built for this type. The car was bought used from DB. 3:03 There is such a car, but only inland, on the MÁV section. It can be seen at about 2:30. 5:19 Behind-above the buildings Sas-hegy ( Eagle mountain) This is a closed nature reserve. It can be visited with a guide. 5:39 I was a college student in the tall white building between 1989-1994. The building next to it didn't exist then. The car you were traveling in is about the standard of the 1980s. Take the signs prohibiting the consumption of water seriously. The cars are filled with drinking water (this is a requirement), but the water system is not disinfected. The Várpalota station building is a slightly expanded 1872 class 3 type building. Many such buildings are still in operation today. Várpalota also has a military past. From a tourist point of view, the Thury Castle exhibition is extremely interesting. György Thury was a famous general during the Turkish wars. He is said to have fought hundreds of duels. At this time, the duel lasted until the death of one of the parties. The name of the settlement translated into English is castle palace. This castle was his main base. Veszprém. A királynék városa (The city of queens). In the Middle Ages, the city was always the property of the queens. The Hungarian equivalent of the English word queen is two words. One is the same as the English meaning ( királynő) The other meaning is the king's wife (királyné). It's the latter here. The Jánosháza building is also a typical building. This is the lowest 4th class. Many of this type also work. The Zalaegerszeg building was built in 1926 in the neo-Romanesque style. The characteristics of MÁV type buildings can be seen on it.
This is one of your best videos! The sights and sounds of the open window video is like being there in person. I will now be sure to take this route in the future. Great Work!
Nagyon szép útvonal. A vonat azonban kissé "fapadosnak" tűnik ahhoz képest, hogy nemzetközi, és elég hosszú a menetideje, de remélhetőleg az élmény kárpótol. Köszi a videót!
Kárpótol, persze. Főleg, mikor csúcsidőszakban elindítják 3 szlovén kocsival, meg mikor az a kocsi rá sincs csatolva, amire 25 túrista diák helyjegye szól, aztán bambán nézve állnak a határig. :)
Ez Koperbe is ki ment ez a vonat mert mikor indult Koperböl vissza este 19 20 óra körül a vonat akkor futott be ez a vonat amin te utazol de csak nyáron.
