Sorry for all the questions so does the driver put the power handle on full when leaving the station or are different selections and then use the dial to get up speed on the lines. Still not managed to get a visit inside a dvt :-(
yes there is a little nob that can be turned either clock wise or anti clock wise this limits the speed of the train. once you get upto this speed the power will automaticly shut off.

Interested to know how the dvt is operated. I know there is a power and a break handle, but is there speed select dial. I only ask as having watched a dvt cab ride from Leeds to London in the BR day's the driver was turning a dial on what looks the speedometer.
My friend lives directly next to the station me and my friend go trainspotting and he can't sleep at night because of us or wi wake him up in ghr the morning
