Taking a train ride in South Eastern Part of Nigeria is a nightmare In this video i show you what Nigeria in South East are going through just to ride a train
I had to start laughing when saw the contrast between both train rides🤣🤣🤣🤣. Anybody who say Nigerians are bad people, will need to watch this video and rethink his thoughts. after watching this video i realized how truly amazing and happy our people are despite all the hardship we are going through. Our people are truly something special. Damn!
my anger is with the governor....must they wait for the federal government...and cant all the eastern governors come together and execute a rail project that connects the 5 eastern states?...if Lagos can have such project going on...and the governor of Lagos state just got new trains...then it is possible...we just don't mean well for ourselves in the east...look at how industrious the people are...without any help from the government...hhmmmmmmm...thank you bros for this eye opening coz i also thought the rail system was long dead...
Unfortunately the governors we have now are so selfish and visionless. As industrious as Aba is, there no good infrastructure to support what they do there. Talk less of government grants or loan.
The internally generated revenue of Aba if accounted for will transform Aba. Lagos is been transformed with its internal revenue, why can't be done in Aba. The south east governor's are bunch of brainless individuals that have nothing to offer the people.
I am in full support of your observation and your suggestion. The state governors are just there to enjoy, embezzle money and when their time is over run for the Senate sit. People should be blaming them for being inept instead of putting everything on the federal government.
Rather ironic and bittersweet that your best moment was during the praise and worship session... even as the bright lights of the oil refinery loomed in the distance - the juxtaposition of the enormous wealth created by those refineries that benefit a powerful minority with the pitch black darkness in the train packed with the struggling masses being briefly illuminated by the lights from said refinery tells its own story. You say suffering and smiling, I say, praying and suffering. Not a good combination if you ask me.
There is no change here. Riding the train from Aba to Enugu in 1984 was a chaotic experience to my young mind, I was barely 6 years then. Nothing really changed, the hawking of wares in the coaches, the filt and litter everywhere, overloaded coaches and the list goes on. We have not improved but retrogressed on the Eastern Railway line. A journey of around 50km taking more than 4hrs is a no no.
I'm watching this in 2023 after the elections and my heart just breaks. This is not fair! I'm going to go and read to check if they have started to upgrade the trains or not. We should not give up even after the disappointment of this past election. We should continue to strive to get all these politicians out of power that don't mean well for us. Well done Mr David may God bless and protect you
My son, you have me cracking up. Haha Jamaica 🇯🇲 🤣 😂 funny oooooh.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Uttter madness. But i love my African people, hustle is very serious...haha😂😂😂😂.
Boy , I felt a pang of repentance due to the fact that I don't thank God enough for all the blessings that he pours over me. Because I'm watching this wishing like anything that I could be there among you all , singing, laughing, and together getting through this inconvenient, optive word is "Together". One thing I tell people who say that we in the USA is soo rich is that " You aren't seeing the huge absence of any social compassion or sense of togetherness. No one cares about the welfare of their own family members, let alone for their neighbor. It's a deeply self- seeking , lonely country governed by an even worse selfish entitled overseer. The colder you are , the cooler. All B.S. When I travel , I've stopped telling people that I'm American , it's embarrassing.😐
@@DavidNkwa Yes David, so true . I want so badly to leave here. I recall a (rant) speech where Trump, very boisterously said " Hey , if you want to leave this country, then you're welcome to go!" He was one of this countries biggest embarrassments , EVER.🤨 A real Wacko. If I vwas at that rally that day, I would have immediately thrown up my hand and said " Can I get that in writing"?, Cus I'm absolutely ready to go!.😉
The worship part got me teary-eyed I schooled in the Eastern part of Nigeria,Abakaliki precisely and I will say the Igbos are special kind of people so hardworking and resilient.God bless the Igbos.
Guy i love how you sharp sharp commot Abuja cap and put on your Aba prescribed cap...make u no fall mugu o... As a proper nwa Aba, I have to give you kudos... 😆 🤣
😳Bro thank you for this documentary. Chai🥺 see my people suffering from the hands from this northern leaders. I love your videoa keep the good work going👏👏👏
Thanks for what you do. I enjoy all your videos..... especially promoting the SouthEast that's beautiful. Thanks for exposing every region of Nigeria positively with unbiased perspectives....keep it going.
Maintaining this train and the stations is the federal government responsibility, that's why people pay for tickets, this will show you why people are agitating for Biafra. Can you imagine there's no light in the train? Even if there's no AC in the train there should be fan on the roof, this video just Broke my heart 💔😪
Wooooow, God please help Nigeria. How is this train safe to travel in? I can see some holes in the ceiling. This is worrying. I have not been to Nigeria in 24yrs and things like this just breaks my heart. 😱🙁😥
Wow,ooh West Africa when will our politicians see the need to invest in good infrastructure like good trains & roads. East Africa is way ahead eg.Tanzania,Kenya & Rwanda
Which part of I am documenting myself did that dude not understand😮. They really need to at least repair those trains till they provide new ones. It is a miracle that they are still working😂. suffering and smiling, been ages since I have heard that saying. Great video❤
After all these years?! So sad that train experience in some parts of Nigeria has not changed. Thanks so much David- you really made my day. I used to be like that preacher - preaching to strangers on busses in Nigeria about 36 years ago (as a young man); It was the best experience ever! Your post is a huge conviction and a reminder of what truly matters in life. Hearing struggling people worship in midst of despair is a testament to the resilience of Nigerians. It is my prayers that God turns the struggle around very soon. Thanks for taking the time to do this David. Stay blessed.
Am glad this video brought back good memories you had. And Yes the worship was the best part of the experience for me, as it also reminded me how I grew up. Thank you for watching and kindly share, if you can so other get to see it too. God bless you
Thanks again David. I stumbled on this. A fantastic video on free style and rich content all in one. I like your social development approach too. Patronizing the tailor and also appealing to the minister to address the challenges in the East. That's the way to go sir. I also enjoyed the praise and worship.
Indeed my people suffering and still smiling, you see this our leaders eh, Amadioha please do the needful. It's the drug guy for me " I no dey see money" 😃 man must hustle to chop. The train is full of dramas, video should be on Netflix and named "Dramas In The Train". Filming on this train won't be easy but you made it look easy and very interesting, nice one David.
O Lord. I love train rides but this one definitely reminds me of my flight to Nigeria with Turkish Airlines. Never again it felt like I was in a market place. I don't know why my igbo brothers and sisters have to be the way they are but I was ashamed for my people. Loud, disrespectful, arguing and the toilet was a hot mess. Never saw a plane toilet like that. The roads in aba are definitely bad. I went to the market. The tickets are affordable though. The way people in Nigeria attack you for filming is unbelievable. I am happy the trains are working though. Its a much needed development
Your channel is very educational, informative and fun to watch. Please keep up the good work. Hopefully the new trains, new stations and tracks will arrive sooner by God grace. 🙏🏽‼
Dave the Gods of our land will reachly bless you for the love you are showing to our land i love your works we must grow, and your channel will grow brother much love to you
thank you for your thoroughly entertaining videos, I'm starting to look fwd to each new one now ... from Boston MA, US.....one request = music credits? in particular, for the 1st song (not the piano one) that accompanies this fine video... thanks for making these, I've now subscribed so that I can see them all
Thanks for watching and subscribing, really appreciate it. Do help me by sharing the videos too. Am not sure I understand your request, could you rephrase
@@DavidNkwa sure ... the song you used in the video, who is singing it please (if you should happen to know) .... the one that starts about 1 minute into video (I think).... Thanks David
What the hell! No safety regulation? Looks over crowded and over loaded. Please government and regulatory bodies, this is a disaster and human life in danger. Address the situation immediately.
Once again thanks to David Nkwa for bringing this news through his video coverage. I never thought that this Rail Line [Eastern Corridor] is functional at all. I would really like to have a ride on it. I am so happy to see it running and conveying goods and people. David pointed out the disparity between the Western Corridor Rail Lines and the Eastern Corridor Rail Lines, which really shows how divided Nigeria is.
There is an eastern rail way modernization ongoing as we speak from Maiduguri - port Harcourt, is just that it takes a lot of time to build to finish. The blame should goes to the previous government ranging from the Obasanjo regime for not investing in any critical infrastructure from 99 till Yara'duas era.
What do you expect when money is stolen from every project. The Nigerian citizens are to blame for remaining quiet and allowing this to go on since independence
Thanks David for sharing this beautiful content. We really deserve better. But that price though for a train ticket. That thing is dirt cheap. This should have been the first rout rehabilitated rather than the Lagos Ibadan or Abuja kaduna line. The ridership on this rout is not for sightseeing like the Lagos Ibadan rout. This rout I am confident will be very profitable when done.
Everyone knows, this route will generate more money, however the train project is also political. Which is why the minister focused on West and North. Right now he is Buhari man and will likely be the person Buhari will support for president.
I live in the US and I actually would love to ride and see the route; as an African American it would be very educational on so many levels. This video makes me want to visit Africa even sooner.
@@misswogdaily2344 It’s be nice to have you in Nigeria. Could take you on a tour around the country. You’d love it! The infrastructure is so great, but it ain’t so bad either.
So is this what the GoN can give its citizens. To me, i think the giant of Africa deserves better. Because if Nigeria sneezes the whole of Africa catches cold! Love to you from Ghana.
😂😂😂 Only you would make crowded train a tailor shop 😂😂😂 Love this ❤ The resiliency of Naija people is always amazing because you have to laugh at the difficulties in life in order to survive.
The medicines seller was hilarious....big big grammar.....lol. I suppose despite the discomfort the free entertainment and comedy is worth the journey. When a survey many years ago said Nigerians are the MOST happiest people on earth this is an example.
East aligning with PDP messed up the developmental upgrade of the facilities. Tinunbu was very smart to make alignments with benefit to his region. Reason Southwest got the Lagos_ibadan rail,Lagos_ibadan express way and some other juicy political positions. The East should have a rethink their political alignment . Nigeria is all about interest...
Apc is the worst government in human history. They haven’t really done any project since their 8 years existence. What they did is finish what pdp already started. Don’t get me wrong, pdp is not a good party either but they’re 10 times better than apc, yet!
I thought Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi told Nigerians that the Portharcourt-Aba-Umuahia-Enugu-Maiduguri (East TO North Rail) is not viable, i.e. no patronage, no passengers, not profitable. Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi was really lying. See how the train is packed full all the time. Even goods can fill up coaches upon coaches. How can a country progress when a Minister made such a monumental investment error of miscalculation. Amaechi went further to borrow from China to build the Lagos-Abuja-Kaduna for Terrorists to blow up the trains and rails. And now ALL Nigerians will have to pay for his myopic investment that will trully cost Nigerians.
Great investment here, wish i had money to run 50 coaches daily, from Aba - PH and it will still be full, 10 coaches will be for private. Let me see if I can get investors. Watching from UK
Thank You . Only the second of your videos that I have watched. I agree the State government needs to look after their people. Amazing experience the sellers, tailor, and preacher on the train make for an amazing trip, the regular passengers despite the hardship are still able joke and the harmonization in the song really enjoyable👍. Cheers Ian
I absolutely loved this video!😂😂😂 There are so many things I can say about it and questions I have to ask but it would take all day.😂 However, I will say I would love to ride a Nigerian train so I can eat, socialize, sing songs and enjoy the scenery from both outside and inside of the train. 😂😂 Side note: When they put AC in the trains and can develop a proper schedule I am totally going to ride one!😂 Thanks for the great video!😊😊
It looks like this route could earn more revenue for the Nigerian government than Abuja - Kaduna trailway route. There is just marginalization in the federal level. I can see why this country will find it difficult to progress.
Of Course this route will earn more revenue, because there are lots of cargo. According to the Minister of Transport, Nigeria is extending its train service to Niger Republic, so they bring in there cargo into Nigeria, which in turn will earn Nigeria revenue. But the question for the Minister is, how about the millions of Cargo that move from the Aba to Kano, Kaduna, Port Harcourt and Lagos. If getting revenue is the main reason for sighting train lines, why not start with the eastern rail line? Anyways he said it will be done, but am sure it will not be competed by this administration. However personally I like Amechi the Minister for the great work he is doing, If Abia State Governor, both present and past are visionally and politically smart, Abia State will not be in a mess
This Aba-Port Harcourt line sees more passenger traffic than Lagos-Ibadan line. Even if the fares are raised, people would still use the railway. I think they prefer using the railway, not necessarily because the roads are bad.
Great videos, very original. I like the tailor measuring part and the drug seller part. By the way, what camera are you using to make these videos? Brand and model, please.....?
What a ride. Thank you for showing this. It clearly exposes how the average Nigerians are suffering. Like this is suffering and smiling at the same time. Nigeria can't accept mediocre any longer. All citizens should go get their pvcs. It is your power and your weapon to FIRE ALL THOSE INCOMPETENT GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS IN THE OFFICE come February 2023. This video not only makes you smile, see the beautiful souls of Nigerians praising and calling on God but it also makes you angry and outright hate the status quo. Everything is not God. Praying or prayer is not going to solve bad governance. People should get it up in their head that those in power are there to serve them not the other way around. And when they are not performing well or when their report cards stinks they should be voted out of the office. It makes me sick seeing people suffering from the hand of bad governance
Man you are strong. This is serious. Lol. But my take on the train itself while supposedly they wait for a better railway system, the government should at least upgrade and maintain the ones they have at hand. For goodness sake simple repainting of that train shouldn't cost an entire government arm and leg. Regulate or enforce passenger seating. In fact at times it is not so much of building new infrastructures. The bulk of things is how you maintain them. In the western world, places like the USA and many others they have buildings that dates back to 1700s, 1800s and so fourth. Unlike in Africa, many of those buildings today are well maintained that you won't even know they are built long time ago. Like in one of your previous videos about umuahia, the state capital of abia. That place is littered with old buildings screaming renovation or simple rooftop maintenance. So is not always building new things. If you don't know how to maintain things it means absolutely nothing building one. Streets are littered with trash and the government doesn't know they can create job by employing folks to clean the street daily. Like seriously folks these are common sense issues not rocket science of a thing.
With the kind of traffic along this route, if government revamps the rail sector in this country, they will earn a lot of revenue. But honestly, I don't know why they do standard gauge in other parts of the country and they intend to do narrow gauge in this part.
@@DavidNkwa that's not true. They want to leave have something to leave office with in 2023. The cost of building standard gauge on the eastern line which is bigger than the western line is a lot of more expensive and Chinesse are not giving any new loans, so it is easier and faster for us to repair the existing for $3B and in the future build new standard guage.
