The 'Flying Scotsman' in black I could quite confidently date to late 2015/early 2016 when it was being put back into service - at long last! - at the East Lancs. It was finally repainted in green later in 2016 for its official mainline debut. 'Flying Scotsman' in America I, for one, would like to see! Take it over the Marias Pass eastbound - the climb from Essex to Summit will give you (and it) something to think about!

There were two shades for BR Green, pre-1954 and post-1954. Pre was basically just GWR green and post was BR's own shade

The “Hybrid Scotsman” with the German deflectors has a SAR 3 Chime also

13:37 Let's be honest, as crazy and somewhat annoying Flying Scotsman's story and fame are, it is still better than letting the whole class go extinct, which would have happened if the BR had had it their way. Better one than none.
