Traditionally, the President-elect travels to Washington, DC by plane in advance of the inauguration. It looks likely that Joe Biden will travel to Washington from the railway station that bears his name in Wilmington, Delaware on a chartered Amtrak train. The consist would likely be two P42DC diesel locomotives, likely numbers 46 and 120 with a rake of Amfleet coaches (like what you are pulling) and private car Georgia 300. There will be several trains in the convoy, including "sweepers" with Secret Service onboard both in at the front and the rear and possibly a train carrying members of the press. That is what happened when Barack Obama arrived in DC from Philadelphia on an Amtrak train, stopping along the way in Wilmington to pick up Biden and stopping in Baltimore and at Bowie State University for speeches. It is unlikely there will be stops for speeches this time.
