Finally getting round to driving on the Chatham Mainline addon route for Train Simulator 2016. Its adds to my existing favourite route DTG have made the South London Network adding an array of Southeastern network lines and stations. In this video I am doing a custom scenario of the steam workshop driving from Orpington to London Victoria in a Class 465 4-car Networker. Enjoy!

Southern trains do also stop at platform one at Beckenham Junction and trams are on the bit of pantograph. Southern trains I believe go to Dorking and Sutton. I commute on this route quite often and it is great and I love travelling on it. Thanks for another great video and keep up the good work.

Sydenham Hill was my home station growing up and the first time you got the pronunciation spot on, well done! (sounds like sid-nam) and yes, the 'w' in Dulwich is silent.

I believe that the line with pantograph on the left at Beckenham Junction is the London Trams.

That 465 you saw after Petts Wood is going to Charing Cross or Cannon Street but coming off the Chatham Mainline. They usual use that in the peak hours only and it joins just before Chislehurst!

Hi, Orpington has 4 through platforms and 4 stop platforms. The stop platforms are platforms 1,6,7,8 and it is where trains from Charing Cross, Cannon Street, Victoria and Blackfriars terminate. Platform 2 is fast services to London whilst platform 3 is the mainline to Hastings/Canterbury/Dover/The Coast. Platforms 3 and 4 are the Charing Cross to Sevenoaks stopping services or vice versa.

The wire at Beckingham Junction is the Croydon Tramlink route 2, to East & West Croydon. The line next to it is used by Southern Class 455's to London Bridge. The slow train always stops at the same time (both to and from London) at Bromley South as the fast trains from Chatham. The Catford loop from Shortlands is the branch and that rejoins the line you were on, rather than you joining the Denmark Hill line, only Blackfriars trains and Thameslink regularly stop on that line, and fast trains use it top by-pass slow trains.

Just a note on your whole 465/AP comments at the start, It IS a different train to the one that was originally released. The Class 465/2 was the original model and it was built by Metro Cammell in the real world and features the 'microwave' sounds as you describe them and indeed that is what the AP sound pack represents. However the model included in the Chatham Main Line route is the Class 465/0 and the 465/1 which were built by BREL and ABB, these used to feature microwave sounds (like 7 years ago) but today have Hitachi traction equipment similar to the Class 395s, so you won't see the 465 sound pack updated as its not appropriate to this version of the 465. You also mentioned liveries, the grey stripe livery is the old Connex/South Eastern Trains livery which lingered for some time after the current Southeastern took over, seeing a yellow train just meant that it hadn't been sent for re-painting into the blue yet.

thanks moleman for the comment, that make a lot of sense now seeing that its a different unit and the sound pack was for the 465/2, would be nice if they made a sound pack for the new hitachi traction motors. So I am guessing then that the class 466 are metro cammell still as well? and the livery thing makes sense now I always though it signified varying services... I wonder then why are some 375s and the 376 yellow still maybe just to match the yellow 465s back in the day and they will all get the blue treatment soon. Also do you know if the 465s are going to get the dark blue treatment like some of the 375s eventually?

Some of the 375s are still yellow & blue/white as its gonna take about three years to refurbish the whole fleet (the first one returned dark blue about a year ago now), the whole point of it is that it's the 375s' mid-life refresh (they are 15 years old this year). I know that the Class 465/9 fleet is receiving an interior refresh to comply with modern accessibility standards (larger toilet, signs on doors and new door alarms etc) however they are returning the the same white/blue livery they left in. I think it will be the case that Dark Blue all over will be high speed/main line and white/blue will be metro. I imagine the Class 376s would be seen in the white/blue in the future however SE are sending a lot of trains away at present, probably don't want to thin the fleet too much. And yes, the 466s are Met-Cam motored, and as far as I am aware there are no plans to remotor any Met-Cam units in the future.

As for the line after Shortlands, that called the 'Catford Loop' and is used normally by Thameslink services and also fast Victoria trains also go that line and join the other line at Clapham High Street. :)

The line from Orpington continues south to Sevenoaks and Hastings. And I think Southeastern has some guards at the services to Dover and Ramsgate and maybe on the services to Hastings and Ashford.

In beckenham junction, the bay platform is for terminating trains from london bridge on southern, the overhead wires are for the tram

By the way, these trains are actually technically different to the existing pack anyway. SE refurbished these units and that involved changing the traction motors to Hitachi ones. This means that they should sound like the 395, rather than the old brush traction motors that the AP pack covers. They don't sound quite as awesome, but supposedly they're massively more reliable.

The reason there was overhead wires at Beckenham Junction is because the tramlink goes to Beckenham Jcn and the use OHL.

Guards are present on all Sydney trains services. Some interurban trains even have two, for very curved platforms

I like the high speed services (e.g WCML Trains that miss out a few stations) but I can do stopping services and I still like them, just not as much. Also, I think that the 165 & 166 are part of the 1990's Networker family (as Networker Turbo's) but that's just a guess.

Hope you did well in those exams qwerty, I myself have quite a few of my GCSEs to do but at the end of the month it will all be over and I can return to being myself again :) About the traction...these are what us enthusiasts call javworkers. Wish they didn't re-motor these trains but hey i suppose it's gonna extend its life.

This is a network? Hell no 😂😂. And what you said about linking everything, there is a route which has the North London line, West London Line, South London Network, London to Faversham High speed, London to Brighton and London to Bedford all linked up and it is undriveable because it crashes all the time. Linking up ALL the south UK routes would need a better game engine and better tools.

there is a funny story on the LU where because of a general lack of space there is only one telephone in the cab so you interchange between the pa and the signal box using two buttons and some drivers have pressed the wrong button and made pa anns. to the signal box and vice versa

Three won't be an update for the 465 because it's the /0 and /1 and they were built by BREL and not Metrocammel and ABB as the /2 and /9. This means that the /0 and /1 has the Hitachi traction motors (until 2009 I think they had the Brush traction motors.) and the /2 and /9 has Alsthom G352BY traction motors. And it's a very noticeable sound difference between the two.

Yes but there's two original motors the Brush and the Metrocammel ones all the brush motors were replaced between 2009-2010 but the Metrocammel ones still runs today.
