Next video is taking a bit longer than expected so here's one I did a few months back for another channel that didn't get much play. Enjoy and I promise some good stuff is on the way. :)
Have you thought about making videos on Avatar: The Last Airbender? Or Legends of Korra? They both have lots of Asian cultural influences you could talk about.
This is such a hidden sleeper, even after seeing it a few times I never realized why certain scenes made me uncomfortable, or way more tense than I’m used to in film, but.. videos like this help me realize it’s really an effective metaphor on society. There are so many instances in the real world that make us anxious for no reason, other than losing control of situations. Even when we speak out, the general flow follows the negative route. Things may go wrong regardless of how strongly you feel about something, but it doesn’t end there. I think there are higher levels of determination, respect and selflessness, and bravery. there is more that we can do, but the action we would have to take are completely outside our realm of understanding, take sacrifice and death. Humans will perform endless acts of mental gymnastics in order to spin methods of denial, never even considering the question itself. We have to be stronger, and decide for ourselves when we must take that step forward into the unknown. The opportunity will arrive one day, focus.
Train to busan is amazing it makes me so happy to see your breakdown on it. I recently found your channel and i love it i hope that one day you do “ all of us are dead” because it is so good and the most amazing thing about the show is for me the character and how the actors portrays them
Generation Ochi + “Train to a Busan” equals a pairing of two things I greatly enjoy! Hopefully, Generation Ochi will also cover “Peninsula” as it’s supposed to be a “sequel” to “Train to Busan.” Though perhaps they’re just in the same world/universe since there “Peninsula” apparently lacks any character/actor overlaps with or references to “Train to Busan.”
Peninsula (or Train To Busan 2) is not really a 'sequel' to Train To Busan 1, but it does take place 4 years later. Basically, there are 'safe zones' and 'zombie infested zones' and the main characters are sent to complete a mission in a 'zombie infested zone'. It's a lot like the Escape from New York / Escape From L.A., but with zombies.
One of the best things about Korean/asian movies is that they are not afraid to sacrifice characters. With American films, you know they will survive to the end its not scary, compared with All of Us Are Dead, Sweet Home etc, and you get deep into side characters so much more because these people might just turn out to be the ones left standing. The characters in these films are well rounded and thought out, not just red shirts. I love them. Alice In Borderland killed me in episode 3 just for self sacrifice.!!
Yon Suk was my favorite character to hate because he’s right most (check Most) of the time: he was wrong to demand to stop early (for the military checkpoint) but if he had said to go straight to Busan at the start so many more passengers would’ve made it before the blockade at the tunnel was set up. Just my two cents, this is my favorite zombie movie Edit: if only they learned how to shut doors behind them then the zombies wouldn’t have been able to pile up against the survivors
I have a confusion tho. When Seok woo calls Kim for the last time, in the bathroom, Kim tells something about how the outbreak started in YS Biotech. Its not his fault. He did what he was told to do. What was this all about ?
the company they worked at was the main shareholder off YS biotech. So YS biotech existed because off the company kim and seok woo worked at. its even assumed that it where seok woo and kim where the ones that bought said shares because the CEO's ordered them to. So in short if they didnt worked at the company or refused the order to bought said shares the outbreak might never have happened.
So sorry just have to point it out, how you pronounce "Busan" just sounds very strange. In non Korean speaking countries we still don't pronounce it that way. And a quick RU-vid search will also tell you how to pronounce it in Korean.
