When we finally get to a place we only heard or read about, it's exciting because it is familiar, even though we've never been there.
Here I mainly talk about the Midland Line between Christchurch and Greymouth in the South Island of New Zealand.
Sorry, one of the photos of electric locomotives is actually from the North Island Main Trunk, rather than the Arthur's Pass to Otira Section of the Midland Line.
A further correction: I did not take that video of the train at Arthur's Pass; my wife did - I'm actually shown in it taking a photo of the train.
