Train VS Metro | Fastest route from Hua Lamphong to Bang Sue Station

There has been much discussions to close the old Main Railroad station Hua Lamphong in Bangkok since they now have a new Main station at Bang Sue. But doing so would cause a big gap in Train Service between these 2 station. So I went to find out what is the fastest route between these 2 station now that it is still possible.

Why not take the free shuttle bus between the two stations? One of the reasons (not the main reason) that Hualamphong was (nearly) closed for most of the trains are....cars. Yes, the problem is that there are a lot of level crossings when train starts from Hualamphong, and always when a train comes it caused a traffic jam at these level crossings. So the aim was to reduce these times. But also more important is the future high velocity train network. Krung Thep Aphiwat is prepared for that already. May be one day Lisbon - Singapore by high velocity train becomes a reality (of course when that crazy man in the Kremlin is away...).

I didn't even know there was a shuttle bus. There are no signs that point to one. I know the new station is designed for more passengers, high speed rail etc. So they can move all the trains to there no problem. Just convert the existing track to a light rail. Don't priorities cars over public transport. That's just and excuse to get more traffic jams. Don't replace it permanently with busses.... they get stuck in traffic jams.

@@cheapworldtraveller I even used the shuttle bus on the very first day after opening (19-01-2023). I am a train lover, and I would prioritise trains over cars always....but you cannot ignore the reality in Bangkok. There are a lot of cars.... You are sounding like somebody from a priviliged Western country. But please.... do not apply your home rules to other countries, especially when you call yourself "worldtraveller".

I wanted to make a new video about this, So I asked around and there are no more busses between the station there hasn't been for the last 2 years. So unfortunately you are stuck using the train or the MRT. Also there is nothing western about good public transportation. Singapore, Japan, China, Kuala Lumpur have excellent public transportation. Bangkok is a rich world city. It should be easy for them to develop their city for better public transportation and less cars. Thankfully they are doing better with them opening a bunch of lines metro lines, but if they will prioritize cars where the could with ease prioritize trains I will criticize them.
