That’s impressive for a wholly dam raised lamb to be that cooperative. You’re very good with him. I hope his cough is better.

Suffolk's are big, solid 'woolies' but they are suckers for footrot. A weekly dip in formalin hardens them nicely! They love silage and mangels - maybe you could grow a winter Crop on some empty land? 👍 Great stuff and Good Luck

Great job brother! I'm more impressed by the sheep every time. My sheep were very skittish and they act as a group. The younger the better. I had to hang out with them a lot, laying down with them and scratching and rubbing them all over. They love to hear you talk to them.

@@happiness8058 yes at the least i will make that when i find some webing and another sheepbelt buckle, but id like to have another metal yolk hinged ti the front of this one so i can load my new guy in first with the second yolk folded over the top of him the. Bring my old ram in front of him and unfold the second yolk over him so they have rigidity and cant move to the sides as easily.

How heavy is your little wagon? Also if someone had a larger wagon do you think 2 rams could be yoked together the way they did with horses and oxen? I see in an older question you mentioned you are looking for a single file rather that side by side. Very cool. I seen a really cool dog cart that was built like a horse racing cart so it was very balanced with the weight on the wheels so very little weight goes on the dogs back. I think there is a fast growing need for modern, smart gypsy wagons!
@yoyopg123
@yoyopg123 2 года назад
Congratulations to you both. He really settled into that. Hard to tell how close his back legs are to the wheel. Will you have to extend the yoke or alter the harness geometry with this big boy?

I wonder if you could do the same thing with a cashmere wether and a wool ram I'd love to be set up with a dairy ewe, a wool ram, a cashmere whether, and an Alpine dairy nanny. I would have to learn goats and sheep the way I know birds and cats and fish and dogs though. I had an alpine dairy nanny goat and a wether Many years ago for about two months until domestic violence ruined that and the goats went back to their original home. I didn't have them long enough to really get comfortable with managing the needs of their specialized stomachs and their worming needs and how to tell when things are going out of balance and how to give the right amount of things to fix problems when they arise. I loved taking them on nature trails though. And I loved milking and making cheese. I want to position myself to be ready to do this when no one has cars. But I can't fight the officer mucks and Karen's of the world because I will still have to protect my Izzy and Sophia. Who are a disabled chicken and a sultan pullet. I would have to work out how to replace my cashmere wether when he gets too old to do it and my alpine would have to visit a billy from time to time. But I think I could really enjoy my version of your life if all the Karen's and officer mucks of the world were out of the way.
