What does a realistic training day look like for a full time professional athlete? What do we actually do all day? Here is a typical day...My 24 hours is spent figuring out how to get better, every moment of the day my head is occupied by how to become the best version of myself. Each decision, even as small as a meal choice, alters how I will be in the next session, or tomorrows session or how I recover... how I will feel, how my body will adapt or cope. Even the thoughts I have throughout the day or in specific moments will impact my performance in sessions. Each decision I make through the day impacts every micro moment during my performance in training and in competition.. it's a 24 hour job, you don't ever switch off, But that is what makes it so fun.
Training has definitely ramped up this last couple of weeks! We have been training at altitude ready for the World Championships in Mexico! It has been a fun adaptation to training and challenged me both physically and mentally. I love it!

Did Tae Kwon Do for many years as younger...now when I see you kick I can feel the muscles in my legs reacting to it with a need for kicking 😂 It just stays in you forever.

I had to speak at Church, so naturally I used my "Sound Powered Phone" voice. The good news is I don't stutter using it, the bad news is it's exhausting, both speaking like that & explaining why I don't just do it all the time.

We have the world championships in Mexico in 4 weeks, it is adjusted so we can get used to training and fighting in that climate

Idk if this is still relevant but muay thai is better I trained TKD it's good but Muay Thai has more techniques to defend yourself better and it has more power in its techniques

This video shows that you can find addicts to any BS they put the word "Olympic" on. It is so sad to see how taekwondo has become ridiculous within just 50 years of existence. Back in the day, it was carried by military trained vigorously in traditional karaté, and now it has become watered down jumping leg fencing with no teeth and no soul, but with an Olympic stamp on it. What a mess. I reduced my taekwondo training to only once a week, just as a kick workout, and do traditional karaté as my main style. Competition seems to ruin every martial art.

I am so glad that I learned TKD in the 90s. And that my teachers competed at the highest level during the 80s. Old school tkd is totally different and definitely my preferred style. Feels more like a battle. Interesting to see how the sparring sessions in this vid differ from what we do at my dojang.
