A multi-stakeholder approach to coordinating security is the bedrock of inclusive security. The multi-stakeholder approach seeks and gets relevant stakeholders together for better coordinating communication, doing joint analysis-planning-implementation and/or evaluation so that efforts are not duplicated, run counter to each other and/or coordinate efforts at bringing security to an insecure place.
This 3-day training introduced the participants to thinking through the nuts and bolts of design and facilitating a multi-stakeholder process. Moving on a continuum from increasingly joint information sharing to coordination and implementation takes the building of trust and confidence among stakeholders.
In the first two sessions participants looked at the specifics of Design and Facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes. Each day a case study was presented focusing on the topic of the day. The case studies focused on Serbia and Fiji. The third day started with a case study and then was followed by breakout groups working with a multi-stakeholder process scenario.
GPPAC has developed a multi-stakeholder processes manual as a freely available resource and this training will use that and the Human Security Curriculum as the basis of this training. Find it here: gppac.net/reso...
