Training my spaniel in the first few months 

Thanks great video.... we have given our springer pup too much freedom and are now trying to reel it back in 😬 we were given the advice to expose it to as much as possible as a pup. Wish I had found your videos sooner. Cheers

Hi! My wife and I got a 12 week old sprocker a week ago. I have made the conscious choice of leaving full time work so I can actually train her, as I’ve seen too many ill trained Covid dogs over the past 18 months. Personally, I think it’s unfair on the dog that it’s been allowed to become ill trained. Anyway… after reading and watching lots of broad, often contradictory content in the last couple of week, I’m so glad to have found your page. I appreciate how specific your instructions are and how you explain the steps of progression. I hope it’s ok, I just have two questions (sorry if you’ve answered these in other videos) 1) When starting out with retrieval training with a puppy, would you use a whistle or command when they’re doing it? I think in another video you talk about puppies probably responding to any word at the beginning. Would you advise just retrieval without commands? If so, for how long? 2) My wife and I would love for her to have as much as the same relationship with our puppy but she will be working more and have less time to do training. So should she work on stuff at a staggered rate so that the puppy learns foundational stuff with her as well? Thanks again for taking the time to record these videos and the information you provide!

I've got a working cocker spaniel just a month ago. He is 8 months now and I can see he didn't have any training before. He didn't even know how to walk up and down the stairs. Thank God I found your channel here. There are very good and simple instructions. Do you think it will be enough to start with his training? Is it not too late?. Thank you.

What you've just said there has kinda hit home with me. My pup is 12 weeks old I picked her up at 10 weeks and she has been one of the noisiest dogs I've own. I tried the big walks to tire her out and hopefully settle her down. Anyway, that has resulted in her not really paying that much attention to me now. She's the first dog I've owned that isn't too keen on retrieving and the first I've owned that isn't overly excited about coming back to me. Any advice on turning the tables on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What to do with a cocker 7 month cocker to keep them mentally active at home.? Once all the usual stuff sit, lay ,heel ,paw retrieve is all met.? And how to keep a dog retrieving the same toy instead of getting bored after a few times.?

Hi Hampshire gundog training. I'm looking to get a working cocker spaniel next year. I was wondering If theres anything I can be doing or reading to get clued up on training my dog. I want to be organised and prepared for the dog coming home. It will be a house working dog I have two young girls aswell.

hi I have a 9 week old cocker pup .Q should I allow him to Rome in the garden for 5/10 mins while he is doing his business or should it be restricted ?.I have a medium sized garden. he stops paying attention to me , and so i don't want that to turn into bad habits later on thanks toby

Hi, my sproker, coming up 8 months is good on returning the retrieve, but will not give it up! Wants to put it in your hand but never really let’s go, if I try to hold on to the retrieve he just pulls it back away. Any tips cheers

Hey Buddy, Great video by the way. I just have a quick question in regards to the retrieve, our puppy (working cocker) is 8 weeks and he's bringing back the toy I use with him. Am I expecting him drop it at this point? Or is it just praise at the moment because he has returned to me?

Music is really annoying please ditch it.
