Thank you, also, for bringing up training and behavior. I always explain to my clients that they are two different things. Training is like sending your kids to school to learn to read and write. Behavior is how you mold that child into becoming a good, positive part of society, or at least to not be a nuisance. It’s the same for dogs.
I love this explanation so much! My experience working with veterans with PTSD/TBIs fits this perfectly. They can't remember and are easily overwhelmed in the training process. Going slow, over communicating and providing the information in a variety of ways is crucial to the process. Training dogs is way more about the human end of the leash, in my experience.
Larry, could you make a video more in depth about what you consider "bad habits" that most dog owners commit. It would be very helpful, thank you and keep training!!
Agree on the simple. I learn thru-all senses. Sight hearing watching. I think I mixed too many types of trainers and not only confused myself but my dog too. Now I try to use let verbal so I don’t confuse her. Thank you
All this was good, but I think I asked you yesterday the day before you still promote your book on any colors or do you have a new revised book? Thank you again.
Can't wait to watch this whole thing. Would you be willing to make a video on play. The does and don't. How to show a dog to play that isn't very enthusiastic about or doesnt want to. I'm so curious on how to build my relationship with my dogs. Hope to be able to see in you soon I love your work.
Larry has a few videos where he works on creating play drive. Search for his early videos with the dog named Ranger. There was a GSD (Koda?) that he really busted his butt with, trying to get some play going.
@corymarinan2996 I think I found those but youtube search sucks when you want some specific like that from a certain person. I think I've watched the ranger video but ill check
@@robertmidgett7509 The big take-away I got from his series with Koda was to let the dog tell YOU what kind of play they find rewarding. I had been trying to make my dog crazy about frisbee fetch, thought I was doing a poor job of selling it, when actually he's just way more into fetch with his ball.
There's a common problem world wide in various areas of society and cultures Issue is most people are idiots Closed minded Set in there ways Defensive Incapable of learning
Just like we see owners struggling with dogs Same issue is happening with children which is worrying If u can raise a dog probably shouldn't have kids lol
