The cliffhanger between this episode and the previous one had me jonesing to play this again myself. I set up loads more of Aavak's research collectors, and as soon as I heard "left the server running" had a pretty good idea what was coming. I've left my single player running unattended deliberately just for the research. I've unlocked everything except for the ones you only get for mission completes, and I haven't progressed as far as this bunch. I really wish there was a mechanism to do infinite/diminishing-return researches, making all things slightly faster or slightly more efficient.

I’m pretty sure that if you attach a drill to a crane and aim it at a gateway chamber it will generate infinite soil

Don't know if you have ran into the same annoying heartbreakingly infuriating problem i've had but given my vehicles are disappearing along with the precious cargo onboard and i'm all out of exo chips i think i might use the train and stick a crane on it along with some large resource and soil cans and go ham and than put a soil centrifuge and smelter on the same platform with a medium generator and have power even when i don't have wind and as a back up put some large batteries on the grid which should keep my atmos collector going 24/7 or until the soil runs out.

Really? That's disappointing, as I made a solid attempt to cut out the bulk of that kind of chatter, I thought I'd done a reasonable job of it while still including the silly shenanigans and keeping the game progression coherent (there was a lot of back and forth in the mines to get materials, so it was pretty disjointed xD) Were there any parts in particular that you felt were especially egregious? Your feedback would be really helpful for me when I'm editing in the future :)
