I would love to see more of this game. I'm super curious about a student run. A different ending than this run would be nice, perhaps with more survivors in your group?
if my memory of the rumor mill is good (that is a 50/50 at best) the devs didnt intend there to be a way to sustain yourself in the game but some diehard ironman players did it any ways and reported to them that if only this and that smal thing wasnt missing their run wouldnt have to end at all, so the devs relented and added those things.
Every time the squirrel corpse gets mentioned, I get a moment of "wait, what?!?" 😂 Definitely an interesting game to listen to. It's a nice pace for keeping the brain active while working. Interested to hear the rest!
as much as i love the concept and that our aavak is playing this game at the same time the music is slowly driving me crazy, i'm sorry about it but if any more videos of this game come, i most likely aren't able to watch them 🥺
I personally dislike the music given how repetative it is. Wen the vid was over my brain had allready goone to question why it suddenly got silent (wich i normally have wen listening to the same song for 3 hours and than it stops).
Was gonna mention the problem with the filters, but you caught that before the end of the video. Though the problem was worse than you mentioned, because not only were you not selling the cucumbers, you were letting every vegetable through except the cucumbers and you sold a lot of stuff at low price because that price filter was open when the cucumber price was high (36:33). I think it would be better for the game to have the default of the filter to be "Open for" instead of "Closed for", that way one would notice if nothing got through. Fun stuff though. Looking forward to the finished state of the game. Might we hope for a mini-series when that day comes?
I've had this game for a couple of years or so on various platforms, and I've been playing it again a lot of late. It can be a bit different from platform to platform. The Switch version seems to funnel you into completing one scenario before it unlocks you into another, and I'm not too sure how many scenarios they have compared to other platfroms. I had forgotten that you can set the difficulity. I will have to check, but I think you can do that only on the PC version. I was looking at the tablet version and didnt' see it, unless maybe I'm missing something on the scenario intro screen. Just like so many others, I do find it addictive! I keep saying "I'll just fulfill one more objective...I'll build just one more set of hotel rooms..." and before I know it, 2 hours have past! I like that there are scenarios that are focused more exclusively on different aspects of the tower, like building a hotle, building an office highrise etc. and that you can choose a wider but less tall lot etc. I just wish it was a bit more flexible, a little less tricky in the hotel scenearios especially, when you do outdoor fountains, lobbies with ligthing etc. It's really unforgiving of undoing things and fixing mistakes in that regard.
The cliffhanger between this episode and the previous one had me jonesing to play this again myself. I set up loads more of Aavak's research collectors, and as soon as I heard "left the server running" had a pretty good idea what was coming. I've left my single player running unattended deliberately just for the research. I've unlocked everything except for the ones you only get for mission completes, and I haven't progressed as far as this bunch. I really wish there was a mechanism to do infinite/diminishing-return researches, making all things slightly faster or slightly more efficient.
This seems like a fun game... the music made the video a bit hard to watch though. Also curious how this is considered a roguelike? In any case, the factory automation seems really fun, I love these types of games!
The number of addictions you have introduced me to over the years is getting to be a little ridiculous, to be frank. Why do you always happen upon such amazing new gems for me to fuel these crippling addictions?
I would love to see a run as Student where you try to join a fortified house. I'm guessing that you need to get trust level up to an arbitrarily high level for them to invite you to join them.
The music is rather obnoxious... and the fact that filters are blacklist by default is an oversight. Also I feel that the whole cat mechanic (having to move them to the islands every time) is a bit of a chore... The concept looks cool though!
The music could be quieter... and less loopy. Graphics are cute, but they have a little too much of that good ol' 'juice' for my liking (the throbbing units, while probably useful for feedback, also are pretty creepy XD). But the gameplay looks as advertised, and competent execution of any genre is always to be praised. Also, cats. And food. 7/10 :P
Watching LadyShelab playing this gave me a feeling this was an Aavak game, but LadyShelab didn't do it badly either. I've had an eery feeling for LadyShelab and her well-being, because she seemingly missing minor details that stumps her when the details gets small enough. It just makes me wonder if LadyShelab just gets that flustered when there's a lot happening, or if she has some minor vision impairment. I'm hoping there's nothing wrong and it's just nerves getting the better of her playing something new, because she clearly has the gaming skills and understanding, it just seems like she's not noticing subtle changes on the screen. With her line of work, I'd be surprised if it was something hardware or software related, so as I'm someone who have to use glasses every day, that's why I'm voicing my concerns here, hoping to catch the attention of Aavak. The mind is a complex thing and the brain can smoothly fill in significant blanks, so any issues can be hard to figure out until it's well advanced. Sorry for the downer message, Aavak and LadyShelab. Regarding the game, the farmer setup could be changed to better accommodate the speed and multi crop expansion are more valuable with those, as crop plots have a much more affordable cost hike than more farmers for throughput. I'm looking forwards to seeing the automation improvements that Aavak and LadyShelab delivers, when the game goes into full release.
Great series, absolutely needs more visits! Hope the stream ends up on the archive channel, as I'm unable to join and seeing VOD's after the fact seems to bug out on how far you've reached after a day or so. Looking forwards to seeing more of this!
It's too late now that I've fallen behind to chime in on what ending to go for (though I'm happy with any regardless!), so I'll just say that in my own copy of the game (which I bought on the strength of this LP), I've been trying to speed-run to Terminus to build up prestige points so I can finally do a slow play where I dig in somewhere and make farms; etc while I work my way towards one of the other endings and achievements. I've completed 3 runs with 4 total survivors so far and am starting to get into the more interesting professions and bonuses - so it's definitely fun! Thanks again for bringing my attention to the game!
Terminus ending was predictable, but very good. My compliments to the game maker. Whole series was amazing, really. Can't wait for what's next. Lurking or no... long story, don't ask, old compy is FUBAR'd... ;p GG, as usual, Sir Aavak. :3
Been watching this series and i like the idea of it. However instead of just tougher mobs with shields i'd like to see more diversity of enemies. Maybe add more troop options. Game i believe is in early access so we can see what they add as development goes on.
