0:45 probably the best whistle on youtube! It was featured in many of your shows and in other shows from other prodocers there was a 1702 documentary and some kids documentary this was in. Miss that whistle wish it never got stolen!
Should have also included the Pichi Richi Railway in Port Augusta, operating along the only surviving portion of the original Ghan railway line through the Pichi Richi Valley
Is that Pauline Hanson doing the intro? Australia does have the most diverse landscapes. I love trains. Built nice model train table tennis table size whennin my teens.
Interesting..judging by that introductory aerial shot featuring that jetliner, I had no idea that Sydney's shoreline was that extensive with its coves, etc.
The Zig Zag Railway is currently undergoing repairs following bush fire and wash-away damage. It is anticipated heritage/tourist trains will commence running again in the latter part of 2019.

Only one from Victoria Ha We have A HEAP of Heriagte railways, Mornington railway, Vic goldfield railways, Yarra Valley Railway, Dalesford Spa Country Railway, and our 3 major mainline heritage railways/operators
Puffing Billy is the only decent one we have here in Victoria. Mornington, Yarra Valley, Goldfields and Daylesford railways aren't really anything special. Besides, every state (besides Tasmania) got *ONE* of their tourist trains in this video (that little tramway on Rottnest doesn't really count)
really really surprised that theres no steam train called the Errol Flynn ? a real old fashioned swashbuckler of a beast breathing smoke and flames ( and, a true born australian ) although lets stick to steam, not Battery with Points ( hint, look him up on wiki )
Just a pop question: is there a fast express broad gauge train in Australia and if there is then between which cities? I imagine it would/might be between South Australia to Victoria or NSW....Thanks anyway.
The Barossa Wine Train-- if only! Hasn't run for years, railcars are mothballed and the track abandoned. State Government has no interest in reviving this tourist service.
The original operator tried many times. The State Labor Gov had no brains or getting a kickback, and Genesee Wyoming are using it as a loss against their parent company. Then sell the rails for scrap, returning the empty leased land to the Gov. It was able to carry heavy trucks full of limestone, but not a passenger train! Why? Limestone stop shipping now, so, what do think will happen?
