Well South Western Railway & GWR still kept their guards, Southern on the other hand still keeps their guards onboard, but the driver is the one who closes the doors. Guard just steps onto Platform, to check to see if there’s last minute passengers, or assist with Wheelchairs. And he / She just goes around checks everyone’s tickets!
