New timetable changes since May 2019 has seen new services and even rolling stock bought or on loan. There are now two Northern services between Hull and Sheffield with one running fast either daily from Scarborough with most from Bridlington and the other which is local stopping via Doncaster.
Bridlington to Sheffield (fast) Class 158/170
Hull to Sheffield (Stopping) Class 142/144/150/153
Hull Trains since 2018 has been experiencing reliability issues with their class 180 Adelante fleet. Some have been repaired and back in service with some still out of use. First Group has decided to hire out ex Great Western Railway HST short set for services to London Kings Cross. The HST's are to remain with Hull Trains until the new class 802's comes into service or maybe longer.
For Transpennine Express services, their new timetable means they are running alongside the stopper services between Huddersfield and Manchester Piccadilly calling at some stations like the local stoppers do.
