The Blue Pullman HST powercars have VP185 engines, a less screamier and more economical version of the Valenta that Paxman made in the late 1980's. 41001 is the only Valenta remaining as of now, but 43044 'Edward Paxman' in BR Intercity Executive livery is being re-Valenta'd.
What’s a 150 doing up here? Haven’t seen one of those in years around Darlington area. Didn’t realise they had 3 car sets either. Great video by the way 😊👍🏻👍🏻
Somewhat amusing that there has to be a sign warning electric trains that they don't have access to the Northallerton Loop. I would think that is the responsibility of the signalling centre, but I guess drivers have to be ever vigilant of a possible wrong road. Of course, these days there are bi-mode trains, so a driver would have to be sure to switch to diesel when taking the branch.
The signaller would be in trouble if they set a wrong route but the driver would also be in trouble if they took the wrong route as with their route knowledge they should know. And also, not every train is bi-mode (e.g. Lumo class 803s)
