Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Stafford on the West Coast Main Line where services are seen by Virgin Trains, CrossCountry and London Northwestern Railway under the TOC West Midlands Trains.
Stafford was a great station, it had passing trains both of the passenger and freight variety, it had a wide variety of stoppers that were frequent and it had some fantastic views in the direction of Birmingham and the Trent Valley. The station itself is notoriously known as a enthusiasts hotspot because of the amount of freight but because this was a weekend, freight appeared less but on a weekday it is absolutely sensational for it. What I also liked was the way this station has now got automated announcements as before it used to be manually done so I'm glad this step has been taken. I highly recommend Stafford, a fantastic station full of excellent stuff.
