I really like that CREX unit, those stripes on the front are really cool and remind me of old BN, Rio Grande, CP etc.. Man that snow is really coming down, huge props for going out into that and filming, I love it!!! That CP sitting there has got to have a foot of snow sitting on it, looks awesome!!! Another solid video, great job!!!

@SunnySide Rails For this particular train I thought the stripes were a blue and white BCRAIL "BCOL" C44-9W with white stripes across the front, and of course with the snow I really thought that's what I was seeing! once it got closer it was a CREX but much better then having a plain old CN up front nice change for a little bit - Thanks so much for all your support and keeping up with my Channel!

@@TracksideTyson In the snow I could def see how they would look very similar, yep the BCRail would have been at the top of the list but the CREX unit def beats out a regular CN up front forsure, great video man!!!

What is with those oversized containers on top of the smaller ones, never saw before. I first thought maybe a delivery strategy, top ones off first... But they all were consistently with the larger on top. Maybe didn't fit on the railcar? How to prevent they slide off.. Grooves or so? 😜 Just loving trains without a lot of knowledge 😆😍 hi from Kitchener 🇨🇦🙋

Bigger containers don't fit on some cars, the containers have pins to keep them locked down on each corner ensuring that it doesn't go anywhere. Thanks for your comment!

Hi Tyson; Another great production right here !! Any idea what unfortunate incident befell CN 8032 ? It does look like it has been sitting there for a long while. Well, I guess that is by Ontario snowfall amounts. I suppose in BC it could have been there for maybe a couple of hours. lol. I really enjoyed all of the snow takes. Hereabouts we can only hope to get the amount of snow you enjoy for your shooting locations. I say 'enjoy' , but I am not the person who has to tackle the almost certainly difficult driving conditions. All of your takes were beautiful ones. So a huge thumbs up and thanks to you for this film. James.

Very nice catches, Tyson. Looking out the window, I think the snow (or another fall just like it) has made it over to the eastern slopes here in central Alberta. Poor CP 8032 looks like its going to need more than booster cables to get back on the road - looks like its got more problems than CP's "planned maintenance." Maybe it's just me, but if I'd was spending the kind of money one of these costs to buy, I'd be proactive about servicing. With the tonnage moving through, and the amount of leased and run-through power we see, I do wonder sometimes. But that's the "engineer's voice" - who knows how they figure out cost/benefit. If it was an old GP9 or MLW headed for the dead line . . . Anyhow, time to fire up the old Ariens ('74 and they don't build 'em like that anymore) and get after the overnight dump. Take care, stay warm, and many thanks.

Yeah not sure where it got banged up but probably somewhere close, it should be taken in but with this amount of snow they will need to plow the backtrack out. Thanks for watching Jim!

Longer box units on smaller ones looks unstable ...what they thinkin ?
@TracksideTyson
@TracksideTyson 2 года назад
Definitely not unstable this is very stable and normal for use in Canada and the United States with intermodal trains. Thanks for your comment.

Why are the long boxcars placed on top, are they empty?
@TracksideTyson
@TracksideTyson 2 года назад
They don’t fit on shorter well cars, they can be safely stacked above. Thanks for your comment.

How are they able to haul such long trains with just three locomotives?
@TracksideTyson
@TracksideTyson 2 года назад
I’ve seen long trains with 1 engine, three will be just fine!

Stupid question I see the engines on the train and sometimes there will be one or two running backwards. Why is this?
@TracksideTyson
@TracksideTyson 2 года назад
@Steven Ray There is no given reason other then not having to turn power around or add engines on the tail end which would be the head end when they depart, you will see this with coal trains and intermodal trains mostly with the remote units facing a way to lead, if positioned as mid dpu it’s not important what direction for use. Thanks for your curiosity and support!

Maybe you can tell me which railroad is bigger CN or CP
@TracksideTyson
@TracksideTyson 2 года назад
CP is half the size of CN, being the smallest class 1 railroad in the US, although CP is going through a merge with KCS "Kansas City Southern" so things may be changing soon for CP soon. Thanks for your curiosity questions are always welcome.
