I see people arguing which bands have/had the most brutal pits in yt live metal vid comment sections all the time and theres always one person who knows the right answer there: Korn - Blind @ woodstock 99. Yea, 'break stuff' caused a riot, best pit? no... but korn? they set down the gauntlet that night and caused a connected ocean of people to ALL move with just a question in 3 words. Which is why if i talk to a mate about moshing, and if they haven't seen, i always say to them 'you gotta see the tidal wave pit when korn played woodstock 99' and i had one mate say 'but korn didn't cause the riot? no?' and i said 'yea, they caused something better, a tidal wave of connected souls getting ALL them to move, with a single phrase - they went to battle' i've seen slayer, cannibal corpse, lamb of god (who come into 'my top 3 mosh pits ever'), machine head, hatebreed, killswitch engage, children of bodom, chimera. I've been and seen so many pits, and still, this pit wipes them out by a country mile in terms of: amount, synchronization, non-conformation and energy
