Hello Phil, I would like to see someone do the following demos if possible:- Numark PT-01 with 7" dvs control vinyl * 2 (one left deck A & one right deck B) With either:- Raiden/Jesse Dean/Stokyo Kutter/Frisk Fader (mounted on top of and connected to the) Novation Audiohub 2*4 Audio Interface Reloop Neon (midi mapped) Virtual DJ 8 Pro Timecode/Cross DJ/Rekordbox DJ DVS Or Swap Audio Interface to:- Denon DS-1 to use with Serato DVS setup NI Traktor Scratch A6 for Traktor Scratch DVS and Traktor Pro setup Or Swap Both Audio Interface and Crossfader to:- Akai AMX for Serato DVS setup NI Traktor Kontrol Z1 for Traktor Pro setup (unless there is a Traktor Scratch DVS work around similar to the way DJ Player Pro works on iOS) Reloop Mixtour for Virtual DJ 8 Pro Timecode/Cross DJ/Rekordbox DJ DVS Add On Controllers (to be midi mapped to work with all of these DJ software programs):- Akai AFX or Reloop Neon for Serato SP6/flip NI Traktor Kontrol D2 for Traktor Pro - FX/Flux/Loops/Hot Cues/Remix Decks/Stems (to be used with a Raiden/Jesse Dean/Stokyo Kutter/Frisk Fader) mounted on top of and connected to the Novation Audiohub 2*4 Audio Interface (and hopefully there is a Traktor Scratch DVS work around similar to the way DJ Player Pro works on iOS) Novation Circuit or Novation Launchpad Mk2 RGB or Novation Launchpad Pro NI Maschine Jam (A-H buttons could be used to toggle channel on/off & the Jam could have buttons midi mapped as switches to change the parameters of what the 8 touch strips control, eg:- deck volume, fx level, etc) Reloop Neon (Serato Official Accessory - Midi Mapped to work the same with the other software) Software Integration:- Ableton Live 9 & Ableton Link Thoughts???
STEMS hasn't yet been realized by users. It doesn't need to be generic channel samples within a track, it can be customized to be so much more, not just DJ mixing. Think one or two band players, playing to their own sample recordings, then playing two different live instruments + 2 x live vocals into S8. The D2s would add to such versatility in real-time, without need to toggle between decks, if coupled to the S8. See free STEMS Creator software. Think outside the box, and not as a DJ, then imagine the possibilities! I intend to setup like this with elecrric drum kit, to begin with, then add a bass guitar, both into S8, plus the two mic inputs for live vocals. I'm sure I can come up some ideas as I familiarize myself with this equipment over time. STEMS is very exciting, and definately has a long future!
Hi Phil I've just bought an Allen and Heath Db4 mixer and have been given x 2 D2 controllers....now I know I have to have a USB hub but how do I connect everything to make it work? Thanks.
Hey, I tried this setup at home but I couldnt get it right to work. Can you help me how to connect them correctly to traktor pro 3? And the correct settings in the software? THX for all the tips so far.
Are the D2 connected to the Z2 or are they connected directly to the laptop? I try to understand the setup of the used equipment. Thank you for your help.
I just started using Traktor and purchased the Z2. I really want to get into using the remix decks. I'm debating, should I purchase an F1 and X1 or should I just get 2-D2's?
Hey Phil, I'm in a dilemma on whether to get one D2 for my DVS setup. I'm using a Z2 as my mixer and have really enjoyed the remix sets feature on Traktor but hate the fact that I cant fully utilize that on my Z2 (mainly because I can't scroll up or down on the remix stems). I am really considering just to get one D2 but the only major gripe that is pushing me back is the fact that its not able to switch to deck C+D as its default switch is deck A+C & B+D which really explains why most folks will buy two of these. So at the moment I'm really not sure if its worth it to just get one of these just to unlock the possibility of one remix deck. (of cause I could just switch A+C, B+D to get to deck C and D but its too much of a hassle :/ ) I'd really like to hear your input on this if possible, hopefully it will influence my buying decision. Cheers from Alabama
Maybe try the Kontrol F1 for a cheaper/similar option? You won't get the on-board waveforms but still use Stems and Remix Decks...otherwise the D2 is great :)
do you think it would be worth having an s4, f1 hooked up to a bottom channel for remix stuff and adding elements to the mix, and a d2 on the other side with a dedicated control to the last deck instead of having to switch on one side of the s4 between decks...this or just an s8 with an f1? i already have the f1 btw
Native instruments got a mistake, i mean about Traktor kontrol S8, because they didn´t think about djs who want to scratch. are they gonna make maybe jogs that you could adds to kontrol S8? Bigs jogs for djs who don´t have turntables vinyls or cd players.that would be a great idea if they make jogs you could adds to kontrol S8 or S5, bigs better than pioneer.
+Miguel Angel Altamirano Controllers such as the S8 and S5 have the controllerist-type DJ in mind...that maybe prefer extra performance pad space in favour of jogwheels (for Remix Decks, Stems, etc). Here's an article discussing adding jogs to an S8: www.digitaldjtips.com/2015/03/controller-clinic-40-adding-jogwheels-traktor-kontrol-s8/
ClectaSkiMusic eh eh same here, actually apart from one reviewer (Ean) the D2 didn't suit anyone who I've seen reviewing it, contradicts itself over and over if you look deeply into it, not as complete as a S8 but just as expensive ?! that's just the tip of the iceberg... lol
+Lorenz Kroneisl While the D2 works great with Traktor software and stems, the Pioneer DDJ-SX runs intuitively with Serato DJ, so you'd have to install a mapping for the controller in Traktor. Otherwise it should work fine :)
