Tralee Bay Grand Slam

In this video, I'm fishing at Tralee Bay in Ireland. I'm targeting a grand slam, which is catching a thornback ray, a painted ray, an undulate and a stingray in 24 hours. I'm using a variety of baits, including mackerel, sand eel, and squid. Take a look at the video and see how it all goes.

Great session, thanks for sharing! What rods are you using? I want to try improve my pendulum casting and am looking for ideas for a new rod

Hey man. Thanks for watching. The rods I'm using are zziplex bullets. They are a great rod but very pricey. I picked these ones up second hand so wasn't so bad. If it was me stick with the rod you have and get the technique right before adding power . You might realise you don't even like pendulum casting. I know I don't 😂

Will you please do a video for gear setup (sinker, swivel etc,) types of bait for different types of fish . Basically everything for an absolute beginner

Thanks Billy, I actually dont use fathoms. Im using Diawa Saltist BG 30s. I also use the saltist HSH 30s but I keep them for the real rough stuff. I find the BGs beautiful , plenty of line held on them. not the fasttest retrieve but the diameter fo the spool makes up for it as you get more and more line on

@@IrishAnglingAdventures hard to tell from a distance. But that would explain why you weren't thumbing the reel. Do they come with mags?

@@Billyfishing_watch No the Saltists dont. The BGs I have dont have any mags. THey come with two brake blocks but Ive removed one. I am thumbing the spool but not a whole lot. If im looking for huge distance im going to put on the 525s . Id say i lose baout 30-50 yards with the BGs if I really do go for it

You can get painted ray up until around February. The rest start getting harder to find around this time of year but with temps up like they are now should be a few more weeks of them left
