so is the issue the 1y relay not kicking on right away causing lines to ice and or handler to store a y1 relay code ?

the issue is when there is a power flicker (off and on) the compressor will spin the opposite way due to high pressure on the discharge side forcing it to do so

yes only 2 stage systems need the time relay

I just had an xr14 single stage installed. I saw on a thread that contractors were installing on all tranes. Is it still just for 2 stage?
