I have 4 climate zones in my house that are controlled by 4 Trane XL824 thermostats. We had a severe thunderstorm with electricity going on and off several times. As a result, 3 of my 4 thermostats were showing a blank lighted screen. I searched online for a solution and all of the ones I found said to switch the circuit breakers for the A/C units off and on and that would cause the thermostat to reset. It did not work for me, so thought of another method to reset/reboot/recycle the thermostats. I removed them from the mounting plate and re-mounted them. It worked for me, but obviously you can do it at your own risk. I documented the entire process I went through and everything is working normally again.
