This album should have been filmed as a musical long time ago.. I've watched it here (in Germany) once few years ago, it was played in theater by high school students.. it was marvelous.. as a huge fan of Savatage and TSO I couldn't help not crying many times watching what I always imagined and loved.. @Trans-Siberian Orchestra, please do make it happen.. let an honored, creative director bring this to cinemas
@@tritontransport it's not the same of what I'm talking about.. The album should really be a musical that lives on the stage for ever (like Cats), or a great movie to be always seen (like Moulin Rouge).. Here's a free sample of what I mean.. it's narrated in French, the singing is not that good, the sound quality and the acting are bad, yet, it gives another kind of emotions.. The one I saw in Germany was way much better and it was all English. Unfortunately, because of copyrights they can't open a recording of it publicly.. so I say, this should be done via TSO permissions to someone who really will make it as it deserves ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SYDwFs8-zqY.html
Rare as hen's teeth: This album is a complete masterpiece, start to finish. I think they only toured this album one time. I was lucky enough to catch the show, and it was great as well. I'm a musician, and this is one of those albums that you just wish you were somehow involved in making. Perfection.
I was so lucky that it was the one time I actually got to see it live.. money around Christmas is always so tight so I've only been 3 times in my life so far
I still have this on CD from back around ~20 years ago and I still love to break it out regularly. The music and the story are absolutely amazing. It really is a brilliant hidden gem among TSO's catalog. They did a summer tour for Beethoven's Last Night for a year or two after it came out, and it has (and always will be) a favorite concert highlight, too. So excited to see it available here, now. 25 years later, and you guys haven't missed a beat.
Ah, yes, the album where you can listen to these guys without it being Christmas. Seriously, this is amazing stuff. And what an amazing concept for a rock opera too.
I saw the Ghosts of Christmas Eve & that has to be my favorite. It’s a shame I can’t find anyone that likes to see them in concert. Would love to see them again
This album changed mine as well. I was recently separated from my family, from my church, and from my profession. I was lost… I had trouble going through a single day… this album was one of many things God did to save me.
I have loved TSO for years ever since I first heard them on the Radio. I own literally every cd they put out. I watch their Utube videos and have grieved with tears along with them through the loss of bassist David Z and founder Paul Oneil Who's philanthropy will be and is sorely missed. For the first time my wife scrapped together enough money to buy tickets (cheap seats)😇 but least we can finally go. I began to believe that I was never going to be able to go and would just have to get by with their well played CD's. We are elderly and it's not easy in these unsettled times to save for anything, let alone a "Concert" I Had a heart attack a year and a half ago and combined with a recent life thratening gut issue where i could not eat for over 30 days as well as having a bad back with screws and other hardware in me, it's been difficult to make ends meet. So my dream of actually seeing TSO seemed to be in my rear view mirror. But my amazing wife somehow was able to scrimp up some money secretly and surprised me on our anniversary with two tickets to see TSO! (cheap seats of couse) 😇but I finally get to see them. I Have been trying to go see them for literally 10 years. So now one of my bucket list activities will be marked off on December 11th at three o'clock, we will actually be going to SEE TSO. Praise God and of course, my beloved wife. #so excited
Trans-siberian orchestra this my favorite story about Beetboven and your my big fan i like the electronic piano 🎹 and electric guitar 🎸 this awesome my friend ❤❤❤❤❤
This album, the words in the songs, saved me, when my family, my religion, and my job, all abandoned me. I’ve gotten most of my children back, my understanding of God and religion has been restored 10 fold, my career is back and better. And a new wonderful wife. I’m 15 years down the road that this album put me on.
I was a concert promoter, even big events like Day on the Green, Monster's of Rock, Lallapalooza. TSO is still the best show I've ever seen, after 20,000+ shows 👏🏼
Saw the West Coast tour in Ohio a few days ago, my first time seeing TSO live since the Pandemic and it felt GOOD to be back! Closest seats I’ve ever had to the stage and it was a whole different world. Can’t wait for next tour! 🤘🏼
I have been listening to the narration of Beethoven's Last Night and is absolutely fantastic. It's a sad story but it is beautifully narrated and the music and singing is absolutely wonderful. I want to buy this album when it becomes available again. I look forward to Trans-Siberian Orchestra yearly visit to Jacksonville in December.
Yep, I've seen this album and the Christmas album twice each live, and Beethoven's Last Night is still the best concert I've ever seen, and I've been to quite a few
I know this makes no sense to the existing story, but every time I hear "A Last Illusion" I imagine the devil unleashing foul creatures over the city as Beethoven's inner darkness grows (Flight of the Bumblebee). But finally he decides to trade his last symphony for her life. The camera then zooms in on the little homeless girl in the gutter, who wakes up, throws off her blanket, and stares at the swarm of horrors with sleepy amusement. Then she flicks her head and instantly transforms into a teenage rocker. As the notes of the 8th Symphony begin, she picks up an electric guitar and plays. The power of Beethoven's music lifts her above the city and her guitar riffs drive the creatures into the abyss, as light streams down and a choir from all the ages joins in.

Wonderful, this is the first album i listened to with TSO! Love it!!! 🎊
Just relistened to this album for the first time in a decade and found out about this narrated version. This is such a masterpiece, Who Is This Child brought on the tears. Rock o. TSO!!!!!!!!
I accidentantly begin to listen and was going to change the channel so to speak and I thought I would give it a chance.. and to my surprise it was pleasantly great.. loved it..
This is awesome thank you for uploading this TSO!!!! I wish this could be done with Night Castle if it has a story that’s my favorite “dark” album and the other Christmas albums too!!!!!!
Still awesome after all this time! And finally, someone truly nailed a rock opera! The others I can think of- Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, and other partial concepts like Styx’s Mr. Roboto- don’t have this polish, this professionalism, this many layers of sheer brilliance or the poetic craftsmanship. Imho, anyway. I only saw it once live but it was something I could never forget. I was just sort of stunned for most of it. Brilliant.
The song that stands out the most for me is I'll Keep Your Secrets. I have to go through a lot of stress in my life. And sometimes I feel like I have no one to turn to. the song always comforts me, and makes me feel like somebody really is out there hearing my cries for help. (And the narration before the song adds to it. (spoiler alert, for anyone who hasn't heard this narrated album before) I feel like I'm Beethoven, and Patti Russo is Theresa.) Thanks Trans-Siberian Orchestra & Patti Russo for telling me I'm not alone. PS. Why didn't they have a complete narrated version of The Christmas Attic? And I know there was a 2CD edition of Christmas Eve And Other Stories with a narration, (CD2) but that album should have also been like this.
The Christmas albums have the "Opera" written in the booklet which comes with the album. Remember, we weren't so visual back then... I'll Keep Your Secrets & The Moment move me also. There's many inspirational songs on Night Castle too... The Safest Way Till Tomorrow is special... ❤
Such sounds soothe kings. Remember when David soothed Saul with his instrument? I'd love to hear your rendition of Go Tell It On The Mountain! Shine on Superstars!
I haven't heard a bad album from them.... Their concerts have been the best.. My other half and myself loved it when it started snowing in our area.... Christmas tour...
Nope, that’s an illustrated interpretation version of Mephistopheles. Or the main antagonist of this story telling album. At least, if I recall correctly.
Seriously? This entire release is nothing but great. Great vocals. Great music. Great songs. Did it get airplay? No. Does that really matter? No. It's still great in every way.
