hello, how can you determine the starting point when using random sampling method and how do you go about when the area being sampled is quite large for instance intertidal habitat
I’m not sure what you mean by the starting point. For a large area you could use a number of gridded areas to make data representative and maybe use a map and random number coordinates to decide where to place the grids. You may also want to use belt transects for the intertidal zone as the species will vary as you move down the tidal zone from high to low tide.
