That walk brings back happy memories. My first trip ever to the EU involved a flight from SFO to AMS on a KLM MD11 in 2007. We connected to Prague on a Transavia 737. I had never heard of Transavia and our tickets had KLM flight numbers. I was a little confused but excited all the same. It was all quite an experience for this country boy from Central California!

Thanks for filming the transfer procedure in Amsterdam airport. 4:59, Tomorrow, I am flying to Amsterdam from London, but this time, I am going to arrivals because that's my final destination and I am on vacation.
I went thru Amsterdam in July 2022. I don’t remember going thru security getting off the plane; maybe because I originated from the US? The airport is not big, but very busy and easy to navigate. Clearly beats CDG, which makes you feel like a mouse in a lab maze experiment.
Never thought I'd be watching airport transfer videos in my free time but you two really captured the airport experience really well. Something I miss going through for a long time now :') Cheers to more amazing travel videos for us to enjoy.
Well, since Schiphol is my hometown airport (I'm from Amsterdam), I've flown from there plenty of times. Went through last April and most shops were open very early (I arrived at the airport at 6:20 in the morning). Next trip out will be in November, when I'll be going to Tampa Florida via Atlanta 🙂
Wow - way back in 2004, I travelled from Toronto (Canada) to Billund with a transfer in Schipol. The first leg was via KLM 747 from Toronto to Amsterdam. At Schipol, I had to change planes and gates. At that time I flew with Maersk Air from Amsterdam to Billund. I remember that it was a very long walking distance to transfer from the KLM arrival flight to the Maersk Air departure gate. If my memory is correct, I believe the departure gate at Schipol was C20; close to your transfer gate.
It is a nice airport, we were happy that we were not running through it at full speed delayed for a flight which we have been on a few occasions at this airport. Thanks for watching, enjoy the rest of your weekend Ashmita :-D
Great video and we’ve just watched this once we sorted our clothes for wash . Just got back from a weekend of superbike racing and it was brilliant. But so nice to be home as apart from a proper holiday I absolutely hate staying in hotels . Looking forward to part 4 and things really moving forward now and countries opening up . I need asia next year , have a nice week
Welcome home and happy to hear that you both had a good Superbike Racing weekend! The first thing Maro always does when we walk through the door is unpack and then start the washing machine! Hotels are always nice but we also like to get back to our own bed :-D That said, hotels in Asia are almost always very much enjoyed (when there is a lounge access included). 2022 will be your Asia year! I have a flight to Schiphol from Canada in November, where I’ll have to transfer on to a flight to Helsinki. Watching your video has given me an idea of what I’ll need to do regarding security, passport control, etc. Thanks for posting! 🙂

I noticed that this is BEFORE the pandemic (for those that wondered about masks)... Schipol airport is one of my favourite International airport to transfer through (Heathrow for me is #1).. Loved checking out the Dutch foods myself. I do wonder how much has changed in regards to masks/covid/vaccine checks nowadays at Schipol airport today though.

Hello, great video, are you filming your videos with an action cam that you wear on your head? We are flying from Vienna via Amsterdam to Nairobi at the beginning of March. Have a 3-hour stay at Shipol Airport before the connecting flight and that's why I'm happy about your video, where you can see what the Duttyfree area and the transfer area look like. Do you have to go through the security check again for a transfer at Shipol Airport? Thanks in advance if you answer my questions ...
Having been to 39 countries I have noticed that airports have become huge shopping malls in the last 15 years or so. It is difficult to find your gates....much like Las Vegas, where so much has been built on the Strip, one cannot even see the hotels any more.

Hi, I am an Indian Citizen traveling from Barbados to Delhi via Amsterdam. From Barbados to Amsterdam, I booked KLM and Amsterdam to Delhi, I booked Qatar airways. But In Amsterdam, I have to collect my baggage to check it in again at departure 2 because I have booked both tickets separately with different airlines. In this case, do I need a transit visa for Amsterdam in this case? Or Is it possible to get direct baggage check in ?

Hello, how hard was it to navigate this airport..and did you have to retrieve checked luggage..how does this procedure work for a connecting flight, i am a first time international flyer and have a connecting flight from Amsterdam Schiphol..but i am checking luggage, how long would this process take including security. i am worried that i will miss my connecting flight-
Different from in the US, you won't see your checked bags again until you reach your final destination. At Schiphol, you will just follow the signs for connecting flights and need to find out what gate your connecting flight is departing from. Now, I do have to warn you that Schiphol at the moment is a VERY busy airport and it will take longer than usual to go through passport control and security.

@@Naomi-ji5si With both your arriving and your departing flight being outside the EU, you won't even have to go through passport control or security, as long as you stay airside.
Nice video. I have a question. When I pass immigration, and I am at the Schengen Area, can I go out of the airport since my next flight leaves 10 hours later and come back to the departue gate?
U can go out of the Airport if you have a regular Schengen visa if u don't have a Visa u will stay in the Airport waiting for your connection. But is depend on your nationality and what passport you are holding
Is it possible to get your baggage at the hall then go to the transfer to T9? I am flying from Norway to Amsterdam via KLM then transferring flight via Singapore Airlines from Amsterdam to Singapore.
