this doesnt work, the app on the samsung phone crashes with no warning or message. many others here also cant get it to work. Can you explain why?

None of the processes worked for me except the last one "Copy my data" app. I was transferring from a Samsung S10 to a Google Pixel 7 Pro. Only the last process worked - Copy my data app, and even at that, I could only transfer just 'my Contact, and calendar'. Thanks again

At 5:40 there's the option to use wifi to transfer - would that not be easier and save having to do all those USB settings? My old samsung has a damaged USB port so I was hoping to transfer wirelessly, not found a demo of this yet!

Can you access this feature outout wiping either of the phones? Or the Pixel? Like is there an app or a way to activate this transfer once you connect a cable?

None of these options worked on my Samsung Galaxy 4 Mini. I guess it's just too old. The Pixel 7 is much too clumsy transferring files. I never had this problem with the Samsungs.

When I onnect the cable, nothing happens. I tried to change usb connection permissions but it keeps showing the white and blue page for a split second then goes back out

Didnt work for me, have already downloaded all the stuff to my new phone but there was a few photos left. none of these methods worked, illjust have to delete them.

You don't need to factory reset. Just open Google app, and type get started on both phones. I connected wirelessly.

None of the options worked on a Huawei to Pixel 7. The only thing that actually transferred my apps was the following: Copy data from a cloud backup On your Pixel phone: Begin setup and tap Start. Connect to a Wi-Fi network or your mobile carrier. When asked to “Copy Apps & Data,” tap Next. When asked to “Use your old device,” tap Can’t use old phone. Follow the on-screen steps to log in to your Google Account and access your backup.

Smart Switch WILL NOT allow you to select the Pixel as the destination device, it will only allow a Samsung Device to be the destination.

App data won't be transferred, can only be done if your phone is rooted, so no app cloning, will just install the apps apk.

sorry but this is not accurate. at 4:50 when you say how to do it with an existing pixel phone, developer options etc, you're not actually transferring from the samsung. Look closely at your own video for the proof if you don't believe me but the only way you got this to work was by unplugging the cables and "resetting" smart switch and you are actually just copying data from the pixel back to the samsung NOT the other way around. Your "see it worked" proof by looking at the gallery doesn't prove anything because you already had the files on both OR because it copied from the pixel to the galaxy. I just confirmed this by doing the same steps you did and the only way smart switch connected and transferred any files was when it switched back to sending FROM the pixel TO the galaxy.

@@guylloyd200 I have to apologise mate, I carefully listened and followed instructions. I'm not that savvy with tech stuff however after close attention and a few calming deep breathes it did work and was relatively straight forward. I just need to hear things more than once for them to sink in. It was eventually a success, so thank you.
