Learn how to transfer data from old Google Pixel to new Google Pixel 8 Pro. I go in depth on the steps you need to take, so that everything you can transfer from your old Google Pixel, will be on your new Google Pixel 8 Pro.
You might want to do a WIRED transfer from old pixel to new pixle 8. Google hid the option. At 4:03 on this video it shows "Copy Data From Your Android device" On this screen If you want to transfer data with a USB cable instead of Wi-Fi, tap 5 times on the image on the “Copy apps & data” screen. You can do this even if you have not yet paired your phones. Much faster than Wifi or blue tooth.
@@HoppyTimes I agree I have helped quite a few friends on this and not one of them got it the first time because they hide the cable menu now. The only think I can think of as to why is when you hook both phones together via a cable they are not on a charger so they both have to have good batteries and some might fail on a long transfer. But a 5 year old pixel 3 had enough battery to transfer to a pixel 8. They should not hide the option and not sure why they chose to. They also chose that old vertical clock that no one liked and only on the pixel 8 did they give the option to change its layout. Their engineers are suspect or maybe people in charge of the engineering team.
Did you have to insert the Sim card from the 1st phone? Sorry, I'm confused! I have a pixel 5 and just got a pixel 8 pro. Am not good with tech stuff, so very nervous. Thanks 😊
Hello, If I choose copy All Photos & Videos to the internal memory of the new Pixel, and then uploading images and videos to Google Photos can be doubled?
I have had to reset my phone 4 times and each time its unsuccessful I continually get to "getting your phone ready" it crashes and says the work set up fails, I have 3 options 1) try again 2) close app 3) Report issue all options render the phone with a black screen - I cannot go any dfurther. what is the issue? I am transfering from OPPO android phone with android 11 Im like pulling my hair out - new phone and hours of setting up (transferring data) and boom 4 times nothing but brick , any help would be MAGICAL
I did this with two pixels and it connected the two via blue tooth. 3+ hours to transfer the data. I canceled it and wiped the new phone and then connected them via a USB C cable. Much faster than Blue tooth they never did connect via wifi never asked for a password for that. I turned blue tooth off to avoid the slowness.
I'm trying to configure that out now. Prior to the 8, you had a wifi option and a wire option. It ses like that's gone. Wifi transfer when you have 500gb of things to transfer is a complete joke. Google has completely failed in this area. Should be very simple
So, I may have found a way around the wifi transfer. When it asks you to connect to your phone, click on the iPhone option and it'll ask you to connect by wire (instead of Wi-Fi). Unfortunately, when I tried this option, it did not transfer over all of my data, but it may have been a mistake on my end. Wifi transfer failed to transfer all data as well. Took me about 4 tires to get it to work correctly. One thing I noticed is, Google will not transfer your "documents & other" over. You have to do that separately via nearby share or another option. I had a much smoother experience when transferring data from my P5 to my P7P.
@@aclaypot3349 I have been connecting my phone's via USB and copying the data over bit by bit. It's very tedious and the connection does drop but that's been my best option so far without having to factory reset and doing a new setup.
This should include logins of apps as well as bluetooth devices that we used on the old phone. Why are we having to re-sign in to apps and re-set up a pixel watch when upgrading a pixel phone in 2024?!?!
