TRANSFIGURATION In THE CHOSEN Season 5? ( Maybe not )

I really hope Dallas Jenkins packs every little detail into The Chosen like the transfiguration and Jesus walking on the earth for 40 days after his resurrection so much has happened during that time

It would be nice if we, outside of the US, could ever watch series 4 first...

They better add the transfiguration. Even if it happens off screen it seems odd that they would exclude something really significant like that in the gospels.

A hard fact to wrap my mind around is that somebody at some point may come along and make an even better series. However, as much as I love the show, I could see perhaps somebody with wealth financing a show with more episodes per season so that they could show more detail. Also, one that got the chronology a bit better. As well as that had the Roman soldiers fasten their helmets! I say this with love for the show. I think it’s great and I recommended it to everybody. I think it’s the best thing ever made. I could just see some point somebody coming along and keeping the strengths and fixing the weak points. Even see someone doing a show where the first couple of seasons focused on the build up to His ministry. Could you imagine having episodes with the young Jesus and His brothers and sisters? I think it would be great if this show paved the way for even better things.

Question @The Chosen Sleuth in what part of the Passion does Jesus step away with the 3 disciples to pray and the disciples cannot stay awake? Do we think that scenario has yet to be filmed since they film out of sequence?

I believe the selling of oil to the temple is setting up John 18:15 where the other disciple (John) is known to the high priest. The oil sales will give the Zebedee family familiarity with the high priest.

The Romans reclaimed the "holiday" garbs and returned them only for Passover, etc. holidays.

Assuming Season 6 will begin with the sentencing of Jesus to death, and end with Jesus being placed in the tomb, Season 7 will likely not have a lot of content to adapt until the Great Comission and the Ascension. It's essentially the three days waited, Mary Magdalene coming upon the tomb followed by the race between Peter and John, Christ appearing to them on the road to Emmaus, the other appearances including with Thomas, the catch of the 153 fish, Jesus forgiving Peter 3 times, saying John would remain, and then the Ascension. So I frankly wouldn't be surprised if there could be a series of flashbacks to events like the Transfiguration that were not shown in previous seasons, as the Holy Spirit helps the Apostles to make sense of everything they've witnessed at the end, towards Pentecost/Acts.

No transfiguration...we're past that in the Bible

I can't find the movie clip you posted tonight (May 26) Dallas being clean shaven, etc. You played only a few seconds then said, "you can watch the rest of it on your own." WHERE ??????

I don’t think they should show the transfiguration. Between different denominations and definitely Jesus never sinned in his whole life on earth and NOBODY is worth doing this scene and acting being Jesus. We are all sinners. Enough and really enough that weak people sees Jonathan’s face when praying to God. Women wants him to take her confession. Really this disgusting and those weak human beings that need help. What these people do to themselves is sin. I am sorry but I see this very offensive. I don’t care if nobody reads my comment or even Brandon reading my comment. This is my opinion. ✝️🌹🇨🇦

They keep editing whats in the Bible for the sake of a T.V show. I liked the first 3 seasons but now its getting heretical at this point. So no Transfiguration? No 40 days in the desert where the devil temps him? Why keep these important parts of Jesus story out?

I just don't see how you can tell the story of Jesus through the eyes of the apostles and not show the transfiguration, this was certaily the most memorable miracle they witnessed before the resurrection, just baffles me that Dallas does not see that.

might be a stretch, but could be the destruction of the temple in 70AD when it was burned down. Might make sense in the context of Matthew 24 episode

My first thought besides "Transfiguration" is that the glow could be when God The Father speaks, with the voice like thunder.🤔

I’m bummed that the Chosen seems to be moving things around. Man born blind in Capernaum, not Jerusalem? Jesus didn’t reveal his mission to die in Ceserea Philippi? And now, the transfiguration in the Temple? Hope not.

The fire scene.. Maybe a mix of the transfiguration and the voice from heaven saying “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.” The voice from heaven was heard (and seen?) differently by different people.

The temple guards in Jerusalem were amped up for Passover scenes. I noticed that right off when I was on set.

I remember from some study in the past that blue was the color of garb of Temple people for Passover.

But her body had already been taken to her father quite awhile ago.

My own theory is maybe they are trying to cover the point where the Bible says as they were leaving the temple and pointed out the stonework and Jesus said none of these stones will be left on top of the other and starts explaining to them signs of the end times. A demonstration of the chaos to come so to speak that will affect the temple and the city and the world around them. I feel it would make for a pretty good seen as it's a very important part of jesus's time with his disciples
