I've used an Ikea cart for the last 6 months and is much better than the little plastic caddies. I can keep garbage bags, refills, and all the different cleaning supplies for different rooms in one spot. Works great!!
I use cotton wool balls soaked in vinegar for my taps and shower head, its easy to mould and you use less vinegar, works every time, i also us different cloths in the bathroom, pink for the sink, blue for the loo, last tip for us uk subscribers, do small tasks while waiting for the kettle to boil ❤❤❤
I use a cart with 3 shelves - each one has a dish tub with everything I need to clean each room, trash bags, scrubbers, etc. It's not a big cart, but she holds so much! After cleaning I'm followed along by my husband with the vacuum. Together we get it done quickly. We have one child still at home - she cleans the kitchen.
I discovered an easy way to stay on top of cleaning the shower. I use a non scratch sponge pad to hold the bar of soap, since that sponge gets full of soap, I just grab it while in the shower and quickly scrub down the walls and door with it. No chemicals and sponge gets cleaned too and the soap dish stays much faster to clean since there is no more hardened soap all over it!
I've been using your suggested DIY all purpose cleaner (a little dishsoap and warm water) for awhile now. I LOVE it! I add peppermint essential oil to mine because it deters insects, so I like to use it on my kitchen counters, but it also surprisingly shines all of my faucets well and cleans my bathroom mirror in a flash. What a money saver! Thank you!
Clean one wall of the shower each time - Wow! This is a game changer! Makes cleaning the shower a lot less overwhelming! "Get ready 15 minutes early" - Sounds great! but LOL I'm more like the saying: "Getting ready expands to take up whatever time you have available"😂 I've been using a 50/50 mix of water and rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to clean counters and mirrors. Inexpensive, readily available, and works great. Thanks Melissa and all CleanMySpace fans!
Great ideas. I've tried windows with vinegar and water and they looked clean until you glimpse them in sunlight at a distance and they looked awful no matter how many times I went over it. The smell is also overwhelming. I can't clean with it. Thanks for lots of great cleaning help!
I love my DIY cleaners but my husband demands windex for the windows. It’s cheap, effective and why deny my man what he wants to do the windows? I’ve found for my bathroom mirrors that the maker’s glass microfiber cloth and plain water does the trick.
I clean my windows first with a sponge and water with a touch of dish soap to remove the dirt and dust THEN polish up with an alcohol based solution (vinegar or ammonia) and glass cloth.
Arthritis in the back is no joke. I ordered a cart for my home and am going to have better results when cleaning my own home 😊❤. I’ve been going to the chiropractor since last month and it is helping a lot but I have to take care of my back.
I have the popular 1970's wood paneling-delightful I KNOW 😞 Many towels, including microfiber and disposable get snagged on the paneling. An old t-shirt cloth stretched over a swiffer kind of works. Does anyone know of a better option???
Ciao i can't use vinegar and water for glass cleaning any other natural solutions? Because i have marble flours so it discolours. Just liquid soap and water will work? maybe alcohol ?
The cart is a terrific idea. I have a small cart, but it's too short. I'm about to search for a taller carr with more room. Any idea where to find the one shown? Thank you
i'm a late diagnosed autistic w thyroid autoimmunity. I struggle w executive function and fatigue, so I can only do one major cleaning task per week. Something is always dirty, so I may just budget and start hiring a pro to deep clean.
Is it just me? I thought on th glass cleaner part, hold on mate, why are you not doing the S pattern??? Don't do circles, lol. Not just me, is it??? Sorry ❤❤❤ Love you Melissa!!! ❤❤❤
I buy glass cleaner because mixing up the glass cleaner seems like too much work. With ADHD, having to do that additional task prevents me from wanting to actually clean the windows. Sad, but true. I do make your kitchen cleaner, that seems easy. I use it everyday and the water and dish soap are always right there at the sink. The gallon bottle of vinegar wanders all over the house. Why is there a Christmas tree in the background of a video in released in August?
i have adhd too but chemicals of glass cleaner makes me struggle cant breath...so i need to make simple solution its literally health issue, just alchohol and water 50/50 takes few sec. Good luck
Sometimes I feel guilty for using well known products, like Cif & Flash etc rather than bicarbonate of soda & vinegar etc. Surely I can’t be the only one who uses products like this.
