NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming has created an incredible foundation for me in my pursuit of mastering my life, which is why I teach it in my self improvement trainings and apply it when I do life coaching or help people with their businesses. NLP is a powerful model that will help you accelerate your results. It's also the ultimate state management toolkit.

apparently my teacher taught me well. I used it to change the feeling of disgust to craving and let a girl have her first sushi ever the very next hour. it's that powerful

Apparently not. Good for you if you used NLP to get the outcome you wanted, but you didn't use the Swish Pattern to do it unless being her ideal self included eating sushi.

Replay. Definitely hit home--my biggest takeaway is that the swish pattern interrupts the compulsive thought with a picture of my ideal self in a general, non-specific way, which allows it to work universally on any number of patterning issues. This is deep. I'm so glad I have been able to find your videos, sir.

As a starting coach, I have learned so much from this video! The whole script is on my Manual but how you explained HOW SWISH PATTERN works and the theory behind it made me more confident to use this on the people I am going to serve. My biggest takeaway was Creating an Ideal Self without a context or behavior and particular location. It makes total sense. I appreciate it a lot.

You're so welcome. Yes, it's important to follow the steps, but the main point of following the steps is so that you have an experiential understanding of how the techniques and processes work. Also, it's unfortunate, but most NLP teachers teach this process incorrectly.

Listening to the replay. When I studied the Silva method one of the tools was the swish pattern which as you said in the lesson, focused on my ideal state versus a more neutral state that replaced the trigger image. For me I find this approach more “believable” as I am sometimes challenged by visualizing the wish fulfilled. Lots of great take always as you described in the presentation. Thanks for the insights and the simple explanation of the tool.

Step by step of Swish pattern: Step 1: Have a impulsion image of you about to trigger Step 2: Creat your ideal image of yourself without content ,head and shoulder let's say ,and keep it down or far in small size Step 3:Let you ideal image come forward and destroys your impulsion image just before it makes you react impulsively Step 4:Wipe out the mental scene or board since and start it all over again and repeat it for 10 times. *Creating an ideal image without content is the key here ...

Hey, thank you sir I was doing it wrong. One thing I found that helped when going back to the old unwanted behavior after the swish is to count down from 10 to 0 in your head and then redo everything. It's astonishing how each time it becomes more challenging to envision the unwanted behavior. I'm beginning with small steps, and hopefully, if I notice some improvement, I will gradually progress to other areas for me it was porn addiction. I'm uncertain how this will aid in boosting confidence with women or finances. When I visit the ideal place, I envision myself breathing in a way that resembles meditation. Although I understand you advised against doing anything, this feels like the closest approximation to doing nothing that I could imagine. I feel like most of my self-help gurus have let me down the only one I can't seem to knock is Wayne Dyer his stuff is still so good even after years of listening to it.

Wow, thanks for this. I love that you brought up that Steve Andreas wasn't afraid to challenge people who he thought were doing it wrong. It reminded me of a time years ago in the late 90s, when there was a very popular nlp (ish) email group that steve happened to be a member. The creators of the group were branching away from nlp into their own methodology. I remember steve actually commented a few times saying he could see some value in where they were creating. But unfortunately they took offence once to Steve's very legitimate questions around one of the techniques and ended up having a public falling out. I can't remember the exact details, but i felt so bad for the way they treated him that i emailed him directly (Steve) to see if he was okay. He didn't seem bothered in the slightest about it and was actually more interested in how they came to that reaction. How did they structure and represent his questions that lead to that reaction. Steve Andreas was the real deal, advanced nlp in so many ways, and I'm glad you're continuing his work

Thank you. Yes, Steve was undeterred by people taking offense to his mission to find real answers. He was relentless. Even a few months before he passed away, he sent me an email critiquing some of the copy on my website. Oh Steve. But that's what made him great.

Be careful with the word perfect. It has the implication of an impossible standard that you will never reach, which means you'll always fall short and likely feel bad about yourself. I like to use the term 'ideal self' because it implies that you're living your values, which results in fulfillment and satisfaction.

I randomly found the swish pattern via Dr. David Snyder. Later that night I went home and ran it. I had a very specific goal over something like 'completing my tasks.' It was a great experience. However, the surprise came at 2am. I suddenly woke up with a VERY LOUD urgency to go by some more colorful cloths. I went to Walmart at 2:30 am and bought some bright colored polos and shirts to wear at work. That morning at work many people stopped to mention how bright I looked. I was typically not noticed. I wore black polos and khakis everyday. No wonder. I got a loud urgency to look up psychology issues. I discovered that I had an 'attachment to deprivation.' I realized that I was trying to hide while also being a very loud personality among peers. I am not an introvert by any means, but my inner child was still trying to hide. What a trip. I'm pretty sure that whatever I 'actually' did with the swish pattern, it CERTAINLY shook some deep things loose.

Replay. Biggest takeaway was not using a specific context for the ideal picture I was taught differently. Question: If the image is only from head to shoulder how do we know it’s our ideal self? I ask because I always had this thought that my ideal self isn’t doing the things I’m doing now so to make that image I though it would have to be me doing the things my ideal self would be doing. Thanks for everything you do you are deeply appreciated. 🙏🏽
@mamaahu
@mamaahu Год назад
You can make the image the way it works for you. Head and shoulders is just a suggestion. The bottom line, that’s been hard for me to really get, it that it’s a very personal thing. Test and experiment and change it for yourself and see what works for you. If seeing more of your body ( be sure there’s no context or content) helps you to have the result you want, then use that. It’s for each of us to discover. Just be sure that you follow the steps excactly at first. Then, when you know you have got it, start getting creative.❤️

I don't look any different? 😂😢 Should I just image a happy me and a frustrated me?? 😅
@DamonCart

It might take some time and effort, but it's worth it. If you're referring to the frustrated image as your compulsion image, it should be an associated image that compels you to procrastinate. You need to find the image that triggers procrastination and swish your ideal self in its place.

@@anaperovic1706 the Swish Pattern might not be the best pattern for this. It doesn't sound compulsive. The way you describe it, it sounds more like you're fulfilling a value or possibly a few values that has to do with social acceptance and connection. I was wondering which NLP practices you recommend to do every day. That are based in the self-concept model the most powerful NLP model.
@DamonCart
@DamonCart Год назад
You can do the Swish Pattern daily if you're working on something different every time, but you would probably run out of things to swish after a few days. Daily practices could be working a bit everyday on transforming qualities. For example you could spend a week transforming one quality and do that weekly. Just studying NLP and practicing the exercises can be a daily practice.

Replay. So, takeaways. As I heard you teach (my compliments to your teaching technique, btw, you speak in easy, yet relatable ways), I began to sense that this goes deeper than just changing a bad habit or compulsion (a you yourself mentioned, it's part of this "self-concept"). What struck me as incredibly important is the generation of that image of your perfect or ideal self. I feel / sense that in order to properly generate this image, and have this image resonate within, this ideal self must visibly (for me) represent the values that define me. For example, one of my highest values is laughter. This ideal self image, then, must be someone who laughs and who loves making others laugh. Would it make sense, then, that in order to truly and deeply do the swish pattern well, you should probably understand yourself so your image is in resonance with the values that define you? I hope I'm making sense, this is all kinda bubbling around my head right now. Although I really would like to dive deep and see what values define me, I think I need to generate a "good enough" self image for now. I feel that the compulsions I have .. I need them gone, I need them rewritten. Anyhow, thank you for the video. Although in order to get the PDF, you ask for info (like the phone number) that's a bit personal, I'll accept that request and see what the material you are giving out has to offer. I do understand that you have a business to run, and I respect that.
@DamonCart
@DamonCart 6 месяцев назад
Thank you for the kind words. What make this pattern so powerful is that it changes behavior by going to the level of identity, not by trying to bang one behavior up against another. Laughter is not a value. It's a behavior so no, you don't want to create an ideal image of you laughing. You could be in a situation where the Swish occurs (as practiced and unconsciously) at a time when laughter would be inappropriate, like at a funeral. I wouldn't focus so much on trying to define yourself. That can too easily turn into a self-important pursuit, which will only get in the way of fulfilling your potential. Discover the values that will fulfill you. Discover the ideals you want to live up to. Base your ideal self on those ideals and values without using any particular behavior nor any particular context. Otherwise, if you create an ideal self based on a particular behavior, your Swish will not go to the level of identity. You'll just create competing behaviors; the compulsion behavior and a behavior that works only in certain context. In other words, you will ensure that the Swish won't work.

This is my first listen to anything NLP. It’s like showing a crying child a fun toy for adults.

Since you're using a metaphor I can't be certain of what you mean but it doesn't sound positive. NLP can certainly be fun. It's not a toy though.

replay - I'm going to use tomorrow on a client for the sugar hit which is an emotional response. I know that eating more and more sugar creates a hunger that is never quenched and does lift you temporarily. I am looking to pattern interrupt to make a different choice within therapy not contextual in the swish. Just seeing the head and shoulders with no context brings about a feeling of 'you've got this'. If the head and shoulders defines who you are without a problem, it reinforces this perfectly as if you have already overcome and is past tense so lets keep going as it is attainable as the picture shows. Please let me know of anything you would change or add to this. Many thanks Mandy

Thankyou for amazing content Can you give ideas regarding how to create an ideal image without content and behaviour Can you please describe it by example... like you gave an idea that my ideal self can be like someone who has solved all problems of my life & someone who is living an ideal life -- so here this contains the behaviour and place as well .. ? Help please...

This is when your creativity becomes important and don't say you're not creative. We're always creating in our minds. Create an image of yourself that when you see it (you), you just know this is the you who is fulfilled and living your highest ideals without seeing any specific context and without seeing you doing any specific behavior. No one can create that image for you. Maybe you see a black curtain behind you or a green screen. Maybe your eyes are bright and your skin is full of color. Perhaps the muscles in your face are relaxed and you have a happy and confident smile, etc. Take the time to create this image. Ask yourself what does your ideal self look like?

What process did you say might work better for fear? I didn’t understand the words you said there and I am brand new to NLP so couldn’t figure it out. Thanks!

Replay - Thank you so much for this Damon. I was wondering if you might use this on a memory that causes issues. An example would be a bad accident that resulted in serious injury. It has been a long time and the person has recovered but now the person is having this memory come up when they reach a certain level of relaxation. As in when going to sleep, this memory re-plays and wakes them up.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to give it a try. There's no harmful side-effects. It will either work or it won't. A better process though would probably be the NLP Fast Phobia Process.

Can you explain how you used the NLP for healing at 48mins. Or potentially cover it on a future video?
@DamonCart
@DamonCart Год назад
That's a big topic. I've healed so many issues using NLP that I wouldn't know where to begin to explain it here. I am writing a book though where I go into depth about how NLP helped me heal many issues in my life. I will announce it here on my channel when I publish it.

I watched it at 48 minutes and realize now that you're asking about physical healing. Just using visualization to see yourself healthy and healed helps a lot. It feeds your mind so that it focuses on healing the body. Does it work? Hard to say. But it certainly doesn't hurt.

replay. Take away how to do Swish pattern correctly and then also the importance of Decision vs Negotiation. That statement affected me in the importance of making decisions about certain areas and eliminating or minimizing negotiation in those areas that are important to me especially in light of values. Going to spend some time here addressing this.

Is it possible to perform a covert swish pattern? Dor example into a Nested Loops? Or in other way?

With enough creativity, almost anything can be done covertly. I've done a re-imprint covertly and that's an extremely involved process.

Replay. Thank you, this helped on my first attempt. Although, my ideal self image isn't as clear as I'd like it to be. Will this make a difference in making it unconscious? Meaning, will it stop working because of the lack of clarity?
@DamonCart
@DamonCart Год назад
The most important part is that the ideal image makes you feel compelled to move toward. Clarity helps with that so if it's not clear enough, it won't make you feel motivated toward it. If it worked for you though, that's a good sign that it's clear enough.
