Answers to the exercises given in the video:
1. On taking the pills, the old man got well. Simple sentences (verb- got)
The old man took the pills and he got well. Compound (conjunction 'and')
The old man got well because he took the pills. Complex (adverbial clause of reason)
The old man got well when he took the pills. Complex (adverbial clause of time)
The old man who took the pills got well. Complex (adjectival clause )
2. Blinded by anger, father tore the will. Simple
Father was blind with anger so he tore the will. Compound (conjunction 'so')
Father tore the will because he was blind with anger Complex (adverbial clause of reason)
Father who was blind with anger tore the will. Complex (adjectival clause)
3. Driving home, he stopped to drink tea. Simple. (driving and to drink are not verbs)
He was driving home and he stopped to drink tea. Compound (conjunction and /so)
He stopped to drink tea when he was driving home. Complex (adverbial clause of time )
He, who was driving home, stopped to drink tea. Complex (adjectival clause)

You are so welcome! There are three parts to this. Do watch them all. Not sure if you are using Language with Ease. Do recommend to your school. It builds grammar, vocabulary, oral skills and writing through grammar study. Invaluable. Even if I say so myself. It is a complete language experience from grade 1 up to grade 8. Otherwise, after you, the deluge. :))

1. The old man was taking pills for getting well. (don't drop helping verb) Complex is wrong. Meaning changes. The old man was taking pills because he wanted to get well. 2. Father was blinded by anger and he tore the will. The second clause must have a subject 'he' Father tore the will because he was blinded by anger (do not drop he was) 3. He was driving home and he stepped out to drink tea (2 clear verbs and 2 clear subjects needed) Don't change meaning. Complex is ok. Use capitals and full stops. Practice a lot. Don't leave out words.

Mam i had a Doubt that overall in Any Sentence we don't need to bother about the Non- Finite Verb right ? We just need to Focus on the Main Verbs isn't ?

The non-finites are not verbs. They are nouns or adjectives so we disregard them in the verb count. Yes.

This is in its true sense, the BEST EVER explanation on this particular topic in whole of YT. I have been in search of this topic since when I was in class viii and have finally found it when I am now in class X ...I mean I had kind of given up hope of understanding smple , compound and complex sentences ever in my life and go on to every exam without knowing it, but that is where you come into play dear Ma'm....I Thank You heartily trillion times over...... ^^

The first one is correct. The second should be: Father who was blinded by anger tore the will. Otherwise is will sound like the will was blinded by anger :))) Always put the who clause next to its noun. The third is ok. But, does the given sentence say he drank tea and then drove home? Or does it say He was driving home when he decided to stop and have tea. Never change the original meaning when transforming sentences. So have a think about this.

Mam could please explain if this sentence is simple or compound because it seems to have only one verb 'spends' but two ideas are connected using 'and'. Sentence- Gita spends her time helping the poor and associating herself with noble causes.

It is simple. One verb. A compound sentence must have two clear subjects attached to 2 clear verbs. Here you have one subject gita. If you add a subject she and create another verb with 'and she associates...' you will get a compound sentence.
