I used hardner and growth. 2 bucks at family dollar. Not dollar general. One week later i had some smile lines. Two weeks and my nails looked so good. Keep layers of top coat on them. Nip at that instead of nails and keep an emery board on you at all times. And use cuticle oil. I paid 6 at sallys for the almond.
girl same i been biting my nails for 18 years & i recently learned about polygel? that stuff saved my nails i stg anytime my nails would fall off i would instantly do them again until i didn’t have the urge to bite them now just like you i only bite them when i’m suuuuuper stressed
Same, i didnt bite them but i would like peel off the white parts. I started doing my nails myslef over the summer and only pick at them when im under stress.
I used to bite my nails until I was sixteen and just decided that I want to stop. Idk how I did it tbh, probably the first and only time in my life that I managed to do something just by sheer will. I grew them out and realized that I naturally had a really pretty shape to them and I got so excited because I had never seen my nails long before :) To all nail biters; I know it seems impossible and sometimes you will fail because yoi will do it just by habit but don't give up! If my lazy an unmotivated ass can do it, so can you!
I used to bite them too but i don't even know until my mum pointed it out when i was 10 and then i just stoped i don't know why maybe i was just that lazy i didn't feel like biting them or maybe i just thought it's a bad habit but yeah haven't biten them since
@Wania Ateeq yep they do, they're just rather fragile at the start so strengthening polish helps and it's best not to let them get too long until they've restored some strength
I used to hit my nails when I was little, I think at the age of ten I saw my mom had pretty hand and she had long nails and I wanted to be like her, I have very similar hands to her and saw how beautiful my hand looked with long nails. (Is it weird to say i think my mom has really pretty hands?) once a friend of mine asked me why I have long nails, I told him I thought it was a ridiculous reason but he said I do have pretty hands.
my nails have looked like this most of my life. They don't generally hurt, but occasionally on a really stressful day I'd bite or rip them too low ans the pain would throb for days afterwards.
I always used to bite my nails horribly. They were just as bad as these. When I was 22 I started getting acrylics done. It saved my nails! I stopped acrylics and went natural at 24. Now at 26, I've been bite-free for 4 years, with beautiful healthy nails! Thank you for helping people like us, Tatyana! 💗
I am a nail biter and it's been a month not biting nails ! New year's resolution! Wish me luck to keep going!I am excited to see my nails growing and I would never bite my nails again!
Grad party. I had my first proper extensions at 37, I'd been a nail biter my whole life and wanted extensions badly for years but my life wasn't suited to it and my husband wouldn't have allowed me due to money. But when I left him, I decided what the hell, and I never looked back. I do my own now and love it!
@@muffinfluff2476 I probably should comment this, but if you wanna do something you should put aside a set amount of something so you can get it done and if someone regardless of whom they are tries to tell you otherwise you should think about your priorities and whether or not it’s a good idea to do now or later. I’m terrible at making decisions but that helps me figure out what to do and when.
@@randomghostonthisapp5370 that's not as easy as it sounds. When someone you love takes slow and insidious control over you, you don't even realise until it's become very bad indeed, and by then you're afraid of them. I was.. he was explosive in his tempers
@@muffinfluff2476 I’m so sorry you had to go through with that! I’m glad you’re no longer with him! Nobody should be afraid to do what they love. There are some exemptions but that’s not related to this. And yes, I didn’t think of that because I’ve never been in that situation and hopefully will never.
Acrylics helpt me to stop nail-biting. I bit my nails for more then 20 years... I tried everything. With the Acrylics on the urge to bite vanished. I finally had pretty nails. When the Acrylics came of i didn't bite them. Now i use polygel and do it my self. It's like i reset my bad habbit. Such a relief.
I've been to quite a few nail salons, but none with a technician as good as you. You do things I've never had done for me. I hope to one day find someone local to do my nails as awesome as you do for your clients.
Omg now.. Looking at this, I am so glad that I am so past that period. I used to be a nail biter and one of the nail technicians I know asked me if I wanted to have nails like ever in my life and started my way up to gel manicure. Now I am only having gel on my natural nails as I have some thin nails still. I can totally relate to this vid.
Your channel really encourage me to grow my nails and take care of them, I never had a manicure, because I don't like people touching my hands, and while I don't bite my nails I seem to have the fixation to wanting to slide my nails down to the skin, I's glad the girl had such a beautiful nail transformation.
I have loved long nails since I was around four years old, I have always taken care of my nails and usually have them very long, unless one brokes then I cut them all off, those first few seconds of footage made feel physical pain haha, no hate to the person at all, when you have longs nails for such a long time the skin under the nail is protected so it becomes very sensitive, filling my short nails can be a bit painful, you did such a great job!
Ive always had to keep my nails short for sports, but i dont go anymore so i started growing my nails out over the summer. I had to cut them short cuz i broke one recently, just from having then a little long for a couple months made the sensative too
@@babypoof I used to play football(soccer) a lot so my toe nails were always very short, now I let them grow a bit and when I have to cut them off very short it’s a real torture if I have to use heavy shoes, skin gets very sensitive easily.
Hey. Can you repeat what you just said about sensitive skin under long nails to both my parents and my violin teacher? Bc they seem to really like telling me to cut my nails lol.
@@lucettacole4617 I wanted to learn to play guitar a few years ago, only tried it a few times and it was pure torture, I chose my beautiful long nails, guess I’ll never play the guitar haha
@@lucettacole4617 can't be helped your long nails can damage the strings of a violin. How about clip it when it has just grown a little that way its not as sensitive as it would be when you have let it grow for a long time.
I really want my nails done, I painted them but they look okay but they are different lengths because my first and middle finger nails on both hands take a long time to get long and my other nails get long super fast.
@@witchdoctorxo your profile is hilarious, and reminds me of the random videos where it goes “people should have a trailer to see what exactly you’re getting yourself into” and I love it!!
I feel like doing nails on bitten nails is a true test of skills from the nail technician. First time I ever had my nails done by a "professional" was when I bit my nails. It was so painful and ugly, because it was lumpy underneath (no forms was used). Never done nails at a professional since, but would definitely go to you if I was still biting my nails. I stopped biting my nails a few years ago.
I wish I could pass my nail biting recovery story to everyone that struggles with it! I truly have NO IDEA what happened, but after nearly 35 years of nail biting, I woke up one day (about 4 months before covid hit) and never had the urge again. It’s the weirdest thing and it still baffles everyone that knows me/my habit... I wish I knew what had happened, so I could pass it on to every person that is trying to quit. 😔❤️
I bit my nails for years then suddenly stopped when I was 30. Had beautiful nails for years. The. I lost a baby at 42 and have bitten my nails since. I want to stop like I did before because I liked having nice nails but the compulsion really is strong. I hope BIAB will help me
@@mogznwaz I am so sorry to hear about your loss!! It’s definitely not hard to understand why a nervous/compulsive/self-soothing habit like nail biting, would return after suffering such an emotionally difficult and heartbreaking tragedy like that! I genuinely hope you were/are able to make peace with the pain, find solace and cope with everything. 🥺💔 As for the nails…I find it interesting you had the same thing happen at a similar age… I wonder if there’s some type of weird correlation with that happening, when we hit our 30’s, since the timeframe coincides with one of the final, significant, hormonal changes that women will have in their life…(hmm🤔). I wish I knew how to help you quit again-and I hope you’re able to have beautiful, natural nails once more!💕 (Ps. Wait…are you talking about *”brew in a bag”* …or a different BIAB?? 😆).
Loved seeing your comments. I'm turning 30 soon and I'm really getting bored with my nail biting, hopefully that mentioned 30+ energy will come to me, and I will suddenly finally stop. -.-
Thank you so much for this video. I am now able to do my own nails with the polygel. Covid made all my acrylics come off and I am a biter. Thank you so much!!!!!!
these are gorgeous and you did amazing, that cuticle work was flawless. i have a question, how does the polygel not get on the skin when forming the free edge in the beginning? i know you’re not supposed to cute gel onto skin so how is it staying up?
Tatyana, i am a new follower. i absolutely ADORE your videos. your voice is so soothing and your videos help me sleep. Thank you for your wonderful content!
This is an extraordinary repair. Do you think the client will be able to not bite the manicure off?? A habit is a tough thing to break. Here’s hoping she can keep on the road to eliminating this!😁
That's something I've struggled with. I've tried getting acrylics and all sorts of fake nails to make me stop biting but I end up just tearing away and the biting the nail off in a few days.
@@angiesheets7299 wow 😳 my nail biting was bad, but I got acrylics and I don’t usually bite them off, or never completely. My nail biting came from being anxious, have you tried chewing gum, maybe listening to music? Try to get your focus off your nails!
As a biter, I've never tried to bite acrylics. I think there's something about the real nail that makes them irritating. For some people, the nails feel like they shouldn't be there, especially once they get over a certain length. They are also weak, so catch easily & as soon as you have a ragged edge, you nibble them again. People say to prevent this by having a file with you, but you can't have one on you all the time, hence the nibbling.
OMG I am a nail student and I hope to one day specialize in bitten nails! After just one service the improvement on this hand was so amazing! Love your videos, they are so inspiring!
ME TOO! I have really long natural nail beds and every time they break I have to cut them all short and IT HURTS. Like it feels so foreign and weird. I even remember when my mom used to try to clip my nails they would always bleed because I moved around a lot and my nails are long.
@@lylawellens2843 you can have a transformation trust me you can. Remember you can do anything you absolutely want too. Especially positive changes. That would be beneficial to your life & well being.. Try the rubber band technique. Place one on your wrist all the time. Then instead of biting your nails mess with the band around your wrist. Also get some cuticle oil a small size that you can keep with you at all times, like in your pocket &, some nail hardener when we feel the urge to bite your nails rub cuticle oil on your nail instead & paint them with a clear nail strengthener or hardener. I promise you it works if you want it to work. I have had family members do this & it worked God bless
@@lylawellens2843 you are so very welcome!! You can do this!! I promise you that you can.. Also please remember even if you make the mistake at first &, you do go to bite your nails. Dont beat yourself up just stop & keep on the journey of not being s nail biter!! I am going to pray that you find the strength & will to make this happen!!
It took me getting a staph infection called paronychia recently to make me realize that it's time to quit my biting habit that has been going on for years. It's not that I didn't know the risks beforehand (I would never bite them in public), but I think for the longest time, it was my very destructive stress/anxiety outlet. For those of you that also struggle, I would recommend turning to stress balls, crunchy/chiclets gum, and like this video, forcing yourself not to ruin your beautifully restored nails
Great advice!!! See it is one of those things that sure we hear about the negative effects & dangers of doing something but for many of us until it actually happens to us we keep doing it . Also we need to have something to replace the nail biting with
I have naturally long nails and whenever they break and I have to cut them down really short, it feels so uncomfortable! Even typing on my phone with the very tip of my finger touching the screen feels wrong. I believe this is one of the reasons why I managed to stop biting my nails... once I grew them out I got so used to the feeling of having them.

I'm not a nail biter, I have OCD and one of my manifestations is I cut my nails down to the nub, so it looks similar for sure. I'm thinking I might want to get nail extensions of some sort done to see if it will encourage me to leave them alone, because I don't just damage the nails but the skin too.
aww those nails could be mine! The only time I've not bitten them has been when I've worn acrylics for any lenth of time. I also had some luck with a type of gel as well (forget the name of it though) for about 6 months before lockdown happened. I've started to care for my nails properly and as long as they're painted in a noticeable colour, that is helping a lot. I'ms so determined to stop biting my nails and not be ashamed of my sausage fingers any more!
