Thanks for posting this! AFIK, the animation in the movie was done by TOEI. Lion, the 80's group that did the title song for the movie, were (from what I've read) more popular in Japan then they were here in the USA!
Ahh, Transformers Victory. When they didn't fuck around. Truly the most badass cartoon intro. That test footage for the movie at the end? Holy shit, talk about NIGHTMARE FUEL! Kinda glad that wasn't the trailer they used. Seeing Unicron eating a planet was bad enough but to hear him munching, digesting and slowly fueling his organs like that.. eesh. I never would have let me as a kid watch that movie if, as a parent, I knew that was in it, lol.
While most of the music in the promo trailer comes from Star Trek III - where did they sourced from music during destruction of Lithone and Autobot city battle?
+Dark Spire17 (BALTOFAN02) Umm...they actually used music from the soundtrack of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan & Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. And they did it again when Unicron transformed. While it's cool that never made it into the finished product, I'M wondering how they even got away with using it for the trailer in the first place.
no music from 2. ive checked my xomplete albums fro 2. its all from 3 (unless the destruction of lithone is from 2 in an album i dont have) could you tell me the track?
This only reinforces my stand "The Transformers" is considered an anime! ^_^ The Japanese theme is cute, a far cry from the edgy and catchy US theme. Love them both, nonetheless. But should asked during the series' heydays, the US theme is much better. Glad to see the Japanese version.
+RodConvoy1987 Unknown, but it made for some awkward moments during the Japanese TF: Masterforce series, in which Wheeljack was alive and well, appearing in several episodes....
I'll have to go back and look...my memory's hazy, but I have the Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory multi-DVD release...great excuse to watch it again! :D
RodConvoy1987 CapeMike Also, Ironhide appeared in Headmasters, plus the scenes in the first episode recapping how Optimus died and how Megatron became Galvatron are completely different from the movie. It's weird because Toei animated the movie...
Cman 1O1 Dalek I think you're mistaken. The Rebirth was produced to bring the animated series to an end in America. In Japan however, they decided against dubbing The Rebirth and instead produced their own series which was called Headmasters. The Rebirth actually aired in the US after Headmasters had started airing in Japan.
excuse me, do you mind if ui use the commercials from this vid and rip their music, ive allways wanted to restore the japanese music from the old scrakble city commercials
I watched this movie the opening weekend and I swear in the scene where you see Wheeljack and Windcharger's corpses they did a small pan of other autobot corpses but I have not seen that scene since
