Yes please make more videos and all the transformers movies. However in my opinion dark of the Moon is the best sequel revenge of the fallen is the second worst of the sequels age of extinction is kind of in the middle and the last night is the worst one. That’s only because everyone just feel so tired by the point that movie came out.
Optimus Prime is wise enough to find out about Sam's great-great-grandfather's glasses -- a key that holds the fate of the universe's survival -- by searching it on E-Bay. Let that sink in.
@@aakashsancheti9614 The glasses is an heirloom to the Witwicky family, which it was at the hands of Sam who later sold it to E-Bay just to buy Bumblebee. The Arctic incident happens a long time ago. (I thought Sam's great-great-grandpa died from Megatron's blast, but he turned out to be alive and just blinded from said blast, and that blindness leads him to the asylum.)
8:06 I always love this sequence because the Autobots acting like a bunch of dumb goofy kids making a mess and Optimus scolding them like a father is something i would totally see in the G1 cartoon. also optimus saying "oops sorry my bad" is one of the most adorable things he's ever said
I love how Optimus was slowly losing his patience throughout that scene. "What's the matter with you? Can't you be quiet? He wants us to be quiet!" "Ironhide, you know we don't kill humans. What is with you?"
From what I remember, the reason the CGI holds up so well was because the animators at ILM created an entirely new engine just to simulate how light reflected off of metal. (Well that and all the legitimate practical effects)
Did anyone else notice that Prime's voice in this movie sounds different? Like the voice filter they use made him sound ethereal, like he was speaking to us from another dimension, it really fit his character in this movie and this movie only before he became Optimus Crime
Transformers 07 will forever be a iconic 2000s Cinematic classic alongside The Sam Rami's Spider-Man trilogy,The og Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy,Superbad,Nacho Libre, Napoleon Dynamite,Pineapple Express,Tropic Thunder, and so many iconic films that came out during the best decade for Hollywood
First 2 Nolan Batman films, The LOTR Trilogy, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Godzilla 2000, Godzilla final wars, Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla to name a few more just because
I'm glad you mentioned Spielberg's influence, I feel like a lot of people forget that. Moments like Sam & Micaela holding hands during the Arrival on Earth scene feels SO spielbergian and it really feels like having Bay's insane movie filtered through Spielberg's vision is what makes this one so good after all these years. Great video and incredible editing!
I'll forever love Barricade because of the DS game Transformers: Decepticons. He was voiced by Keith David for some reason, and the story was a surprisingly deep introspective on how Decepticon culture destroys everyone who buys into it.
Diamondbolt talking about Transformers? It’s 2017 all over again. All jokes aside, it’s great to see this video. The editing is top notch and hilarious as always!
I think Steven Spielberg may have kept Michael Bay in check, the raunchy and crass humor was somewhat toned down, and it felt like there was some genuine heart put into the story. It's mainly with Bumblebee and Sam's relationship, it reminded me of E.T. and Elliott's interaction from the film E.T. (1982). I also believe Spielberg could have been the one behind the Arrival to Earth sequence, because that feels like something you'd see in his films. I think once Spielberg departed, there was no one to keep Bay on a tight leash, so he was given free range to do whatever he was pleased with doing.
I always enjoyed the way Prime spoke, especially when Sam is searching for glasses and he’s genuinely acting like a tired dad trying to make his kids act serious while in the middle of a work call
I was five when I watched it. I know that probably wasn’t a good thing, but whatever. Funny story about that, I was staying at a family friend’s house when I first watched it, and he already had a collection of figures from the movie (all still in box), and I ended up staying the night in the same room, and there was a leader class Megatron who (with the slightest of light in the room) constantly made a terrifying silhouette. I have no idea how, but it did.
I think that’s the charm and the appeal of transformers 2007 it that from 2007 it’s a time capsule of the mid 2000s to the point where they literally reference radio shack in the dialogue
Linkin Park's "What I've Done" playing at the end of Transformers added the 2007 vibe. Same can be said with AC/DC's "Back in Black" and "Shoot to Thrill" is to Iron Man.
Fun fact: in Italy Optimus is voiced by the same guy who voices Thanos, Liam Neeson, Ivan Draco, Schwarzenegger's Terminator, Saw and many more. Also John Turturro is voiced by the same guy who voices MCU's Tony Stark and Tom Hanks.
What truly defines a bayformer fan Sigma: These movies are well written and cohesive with love, soul, and respect for the franchise. CHAD: *Giant robots fighting and huge explosion makes my ding-a-ling ring-a-ling*
the chads can be obnoxious, but they're earnest in why they like bayformers, I can respect and even understand their perspective but I just cannot deal with the sigmas
Transformers: *Jazz Getting ripped apart* Revenge of the Fallen: *GIVE YOUR FACE* Dark of the Moon: WW2…Oh and “No Optimus!!” *Head gets blowed Off* Age of Extinction: *They were my Friends.* The Last Knight: *Did forget who I Am!* *Dramatic Music in the back* Bumblebee: *You got the Touch! You got the Power!!!!* Rise of the Beasts: *Time to show you the real power of a Prime!*
I find it really interesting that the Transformers game actually fixed a lot of the issues the movie had, like giving us more time with Sam knowing about the Transformers before shit hits the fan and giving the Decepticons more screen time to be more memorable.
Fun fact: the car Bumblebee took later in the movie did not exist at the time. Bumblebee took the form of a concept car... Meanwhile Barricade took the form of a custom made mustang themed police car...
2:58 I also had that jazz! But in a smokescreen color scheme. It was the only jazz I had and I didn’t know who smokescreen was at the time so I pretended it was jazz but resurrected after being cut in half.
I think you should definitely look into Dark of the Moon more. I think it was getting way more shade than it should. It actually has some pretty good heart and moments and there was a lot of effort put into it. Especially in the practical effects portion of things. They literally shut down most of Chicago to film. Fun fact my grandpa was actually there for a meeting while they were shooting and said they had entire streets blocked off with turned over cars
It’s always nice to see someone appreciating how good this movie actually was. Would love a followup with the bay sequels but at the same time it would be kinda depressing to relive how much more shit every passing instalment became lol
Went to go see it with my cousins in the theater back in 07, pure serotonin and insanity. My 8 yr old brain chemistry was altered like Danny Phantom’s molecules 😂 spider-man 3 had competition that year let me tell you lol
Here's my ranking people Transformers 2007: Nostalgia Transformers Revenge of the Fallen: it's bad but it's good Transformers Dark of the Moon: just if the original series was more edgy Transformers age of Extinction: it's basically just my favorite Transformers The Last Knight: absolutely horrible Bumblebee: it's just basically my second favorite Transformers rise of the Beasts: yes it's pretty good but I can say it's all right for the most part And then that's mine you can call me (I'm an inventor) Haha funny pointless Hub reference😂
I was 4 years old when I saw this in the theaters, my Dad had just showed me the old 80s cartoon from the Rhino DvDs and I began to love it! I remember it was the first movie I saw in the theaters and I had to cover my ears everytime action happened because I wasn't used to how loud it was in an Imax theater. But man, I loved this movie, so much, still do, such a pivitol part of my childhood.
I had the original 07 Optimus Prime toy and loved it so much that I broke the electronics, his wheels, his smoke stacks, and I ripped his entire right arm off.
Did anyone else ever notice how Peter’s performance for optimus was different in the first movie compared to the rest of the live-action franchise. It’s a lot deeper and more “echoey”. once revenge of the fallen came around, it just sounded more like Peter’s usual performance of the big guy.
As the strongest reviewer, Diamondbolt, fought the Transformers toy reviewer, JobbyTheHong, he opened his domain: movie reviews. He then said to Jobby, “Stand Proud. You are strong.”
@@isauldron4337both have one,but jobby gets slightly boringer after every video.(His vids are only good for short bursts, while diamondbolts vids can be frequently watched)
Fun Fact! my cousin was in charge of set design for this movie, I asked him if Micheal bay or Spielberg were weird on set and he said that they never talked to him outside of emails.
@@rexevans5477 Sad, but regardless your cousin did a good job and I think I speak for everyone who watched this movie when I say we appreciate his contribution
It's weird with the Decepticons because in ancillary media, they're all well-characterized. Blackout is loyal to Megatron and suspicious of Starscream, Brawl is a psychotic man child, Bonecrusher literally hates everything, Barricade is an aggressive bad cop, and Starscream is... well, Starscream. The film just makes them look like generic monster bad guys in terms of character, something I don't think any of the films improved on as they continued.
Let's be Honest the First TF 2007 Movie was a Masterpiece even though it has it's own Flaws As a transformers fan who grown up with these films Michael bay giving us an awesome childhood!
With this year being the channel’s 10th anniversary, I think it is quite fitting to have a new Transformers video now. Anyway, great job as always! Would love to see a sequel video about the sequels.
I lived 5 minutes from where they filmed the freeway scenes. It was a brand new stretch of the 210 that hadnt opened yet. We didnt know they were filming and we heard huge explosion sounds and saw the fire balls and smoke. Scared the crap out of us 😂
12:03 I honestly don't mind that design at all. It obviously wouldn't have fit in with the rest of the current designs but if they were all kinda similar to that I would dig it
This could just be my nostalgia but, I respect the Bayverse for the most part. I appreciate the changes it made to the transformers, that still impact the franchise. There are things I do find questionable, I will admit, but as a whole, I have more positives than negatives.
Transformers 2007 is that one film thats impossible to get old with every viewing. It really was and still is an event that redefined my life in more ways than one
nice to see a retrospective video on the bayformers that does show appreciation for them (or at least the first one) but doesn't pretend like they're some underrated gem, as has been the trend of late
Before time began The six ninjitsu masters lived in the realm of Mata Nui, in a galaxy far far away. Everything was peaceful until the Fire Nation attacked. Then, Sauron forged the one ring to rule them all, and tore open a portal in time to the future, where my evil is law. But at a secret ninja academy, three young students will become the Power Rangers Ninja Storm
I'm not gonna lie, the concept art based off the G1 designs for the live-action movies, were pretty cool. Starscream looks like a freaking Macross jet.
Thank god im a fan of bayformers, so my childhood and love for transformers didnt get ruined. The only one i really cant shut my brain off and enjoy is 5.
Bro as a toy collector myself, i would love to watch more videos of you showing off more of your favorite hobby, ive been loving the transformers content as a whole. got me even wanting to collect some of these these
The teaser trailer and Nick Choice award for upcoming 2007 movies, live rent free in my head. Oh and also WHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTT IIIIIIVEEEEEEEE DOOOOOOOOOONE
revenge of the fallen is so batshit insane it feels like the adventures you'd make up for your toys as a kid, that's why i love it as much as 07 and dotm
When I was six years old I had a bit of a transformers phase cause I’m watched prime on CN and it made me wanna see this and seeing it now as someone who appreciates the franchise more now it still is such a nostalgic throwback
It's unfair how easily, ever since this movie, this perception of G1 as a "stupid toy commercial" has been ingrained in younger fans. Man, have you seen what american animation was like at the time of G1? For its time, it was leaps and bounds ahead of the competition, on almost any aspect. It still had a lot of the tropes and limitations of its era, but we have been too spoiled by a lot of eastern animation today to realise how much we take for granted. Other than that, despite the fact that the supposedly "grown up" modern adaptation of an "80s toy commercial" still felt it had to dumb it down, because modern audiences wouldn't get the sophisticated sci-fi concepts that 80s kids rolled with just fine - I think the first movie deserves a ton of respect, as well. Not only it is still impressive on a technical level, all these years after, but I do admit, that it has an earnestness about it and a genuine awe of its subject matter, that, in hindsight, very few Transformers media has.
Am I the only one who remembers the way the Transformers website looked back then? The red and black backgrounds, the flash games, the different varieties of full episodes from all the prior cartoons. Yeah, none of these things matter but that website was 90% of what made me a fan in the first place. I was six years old then and I remember my dad renting this movie for me. My mom woke up that night and stopped the movie before the first scene was over. My dad then got the 86 movie instead. I apparently didn't like it. It wasn't only because of Prime's death or me being disgruntled for not seeing the new movie. It was because I saw it inferior to Transformers Energon. Keep in mind, six years old with every option available.
Man, everyone is quoting what Optimus is saying at the end, but I’m the idiot who instead of quoting the speech, is going “ so let mercy come, and wash away, what I’ve done “
I still sing the song daily and I occasionally mumble the speech under my breath because I have it memorized. "Though we are worlds apart, like us there's more to them than meets the eye. I am Optimus Prime and I send this message to any surviving autobots taking refuge among the stars. We are here... We are waiting..." God I'm such an autist
