My son and I are currently rewatching TF:A. I really regret not buying any of the figures when they were first released. As an 80's kid who never lost their love for Transformers, I truly believe that the Animated line is one of the best ever produced.
Animated Blitzwings’s Personality list -1930s to 40s German doctor -Austrian drill Sargent And finally… -the pure essence of chaos. Now I understand why he’s a decepticon.
@@PrimeVsPrimehave a question why is tfa blitzing French/british Also love your vids I may be buying the figures you review Edit: this may be a bit far but just a pin or a shoutout (you don’t have to)
Animated designs were perfect. You can especially see it with this blitz wing. Every mode is perfect imo, I don’t mind the treads on the jet but it’s much much better than the legacy imo.
Some of them even give the illusion of mass shifting like Sentinel Prime and Hot Rod's toys. It's crazy how drastic their sizes look in and out of vehicle modes.
-Better materials -Better tank mode -Better jet mode -Better robot mode -Better kibble management -Play gimmick -Bigger It really tells when a 15 years old voyager completely annihilate its modern "leader" counterpart.
@@therailfanman2078 It's almost as if they were two versions of the very same character, made out of the very same material, designed and manifactured by the very same company.
@@PrimeVsPrime That g1 Blitzwing was trash (and im a g1 fan for the most part) but the robot mode was good. What I'm saying is that they need to redo it
I remember, years ago when the Animated toy line was coming out, a ton of the toy reviewers at the time hated this guy. I never understood why, I loved this guy the moment I got him. I'm happy to see people talking about how great he is now!
Transformers Animated Voyager Blitzwing is the definition of simple but effective. In my opinion, every mode cleans up so well that it's better than his Legacy counterpart. Edit: I would love to see you do a review on Animated Soundwave with Laserbeak.
I agree with “Blitzwing” in the intro lol. Animated Bliztwing has always been my fav version of the character. The 3 personality thing was a new change for the character
This guy brings back memories from when I was a Teenager in the 00's. I used to love watching this during the weekends. I'd love to see Hasbro bring back a Megatron or a Soundwave
Love the retro review. These toys were on another level. Still has a prominent spot on my shelf. As for other Animated toys to hunt down, it’s rare, but Jetpack/Hydrodive Bumblebee was by far the best Bee animated toy they made. Satisfying transformation with the front end appropriately becoming the feet and he scales perfectly to the other Autobots. Especially if you have leader Bulkhead.
For me, I want Starscream and Lugnut to get massive improvements. I did hear conversations about Studio Series expanding beyond the films, and deciding that Animated and Prime be the first of TV Shows to go into that line. As a diehard Animated fan, I actually want to see it's grand to return in some shaper form. We somewhat got a 3 part episode of Season 4...but as a draft. And now we're getting a Legacy Prowl which doesn't look too bad
Ugh out of all figures from Animated, it's Blutzwing, Longarm/Shockwave (which I would explode if they drop in legacy) and and Jetfire were imo 10/10 design and toys. So much fun!!!!
Blitzwing since the G1 days and later in Animated days has always been one of my favorites (getting smoked so quickly in the 2018 movie triggered me). I wish he could appear in the new TV show Earthspark.
@@PrimeVsPrime I had him back in the day, but finding him at my old folks' place, cleaning the figure up and fixing the (very sadly) broken ratchet joints in his shoulders is probably too much of an undertaking. If I ever restore him to good condition, I'll message you.
Great review PrimeVsPrime!!! This remains one of my favorite versions of Blitzwing, as well as the first Blitzwing figure I added to my collection, and its one of my all time favorite Animated figures. Keep on being amazing.
YES! I 10000000000000% agree! We need an Animated Legacy Blitzwing so much! I really love this figure so much but he's soooo expensive, like around £100
The bulkhead you showed off in this video was one of the figures I had when I was little, I watched this show when I was only 4-5 and it was my everything and it makes me so sad that my parents got rid of my figures when I got older because I had so many memories with that bulkhead and I would kill to have one again
I really wish that the show wasn't cancelled after season 3. There were plans for a Shattered Glass episode for season 4. And there was going to be Trypticon in there.
Generally they make the toy designs first so I guess the toy designers made them with animation in mind and the animators didn't make too many changes here.
I’d love to see a review for the sound wave figure when you get the chance. I imagine the engineering in the pauldrons would be rather satisfying to transform
One of the best ways used to defeat him in the show, was to anger him into transforming from jet to tank in mid-air and watching him fall to the ground hard.
This was my first ever Transformers toy. I got it for my birthday when I was 10 and I remember spending HOURS trying to transform it but I never succeeded.
The tank tabbing into the feet for jet mode blew my mind! I never thought of that 😅 of course i dont own the instructions so idk if it was in them or not
YES!! Really happy to see Blitzwing be the next Animated figure review! :D One of my favorite designs from the show, and probably even my favorite Blitzwing design to date as I just love the German-like appearance, and accent, and the best feature without a doubt being his face-swapping gimmick that's brought over to the Voyager Class toy (don't know about the other versions of this guy)! I really do miss toys that had gimmicks like this (well, as long as they were good gimmicks like Voyager Class Animated Blitzwing's face-swap), and of course weapons that actually fired, specifically spring-loaded ones! I agree, it is a shame that we don't see the same plastic quality build on most of the Transformers figures these days anymore as it really make the Studio Series versions even better, and these older figures even had pinned-joints so they're not gonna be coming off every time you transform the figures! Another solid retro review, PVP!
I haven't really seen any other version of Blitzwing before (BB movie doesn't count) but this is the best Blitzwing Hasbro have ever done. Amazing design, amazing personality with the 3 heads with their own personalities thing, amazing character. This is THE definitive Blitzwing.
It is sad seeing the quality drop between nowadays, studio series and stuff like this because back then in the early 2000s they wanted to make great toys with fun, gimmicks and transformations with good durable plastic but now they just try their best to make something that looks like someone’s favorite transformer with shitty plastic that will break and I am kind of mad at the designers because I recently bought the car studio series dropkick only for the tail light thing to break off because of clear plastic and that is a stupidly, expensive and hard to find figure
Fun video! Thank you! Yeah, despite the cartoony look, this is my favourite Blitzwing so far, too. I love how he was designed with a desert hat and built-in jodhpurs for a real WWII desert Panzer commander look. So, now that a mainline "realisitc" Animated Prowl update is on the way, howzabout an update of this guy, please, Hasbro? (And a Leader- or Commander-Class upscale of the RTS Lugnut in the proper colours, too, please!)
Really fun to see these. One line I think would be cool to look at is RID2001. Following all the Beast Wars stuff it signalled a real change in direction and momentum, but got really overshadowed by Armada. Figures like Megatron and Optimus were really cool in that line. And there were fun combiners. The show is really fun too. More of a comedy than Armada was.
well... they kinda did put this Blitzwing into Generations during the period known as Thrilling 30... that Voyager Blitzwing had the faceswapping gimmick too.
I always wish I had Blitzwing's figure back when Animated was still ongoing. How can I buy older transformers toys like from Transformers Animated or from the movies or other shows now that many years have past?
I would recommend you check out the deluxe bumblebee. At first glance, I also thought the takara version was superior because it was much more accurate, but the deluxe mainline is a really cool figure, as time went on I started to like the normal deluxe version more as I started to see more about it; it has a smart and fun transformation and very good articulation (even more than ver. takara), besides the feet that are not accurate, the rest of the figure represents the animated bumblebee better and has the right colors. He also has his weapons as gimmicks and rockets as accessories.
One of my favourite artists and the art director of Transformers Animated, Derrick J Wyatt passes away in 2021 so unfortunately I doubt we'll ever see the show return
3:43 Hold the Tawara Touta's head while turning into tank mode. 6:10 Turning into crazy triple kind of personality servant mode. 8:23 Tawara Touta was he was kinda crazy he could essentially switch from three distinctive personalities so you have this one which is believed supposed to be his Fujiwara no Hidesato self so here you have Fujiwara no Hidesato Tawara Touta and 8:44 and there you have Ivan Drago Tawara Touta.
11:10, but we are. Didn’t you hear? Hasbro is planning on expanding Studio Series beyond the movies. Gamer Edition is just the beginning. This decade is indeed the PERFECT time to be a Transformers fan
My favorite bit about Animated Blitzwing is that he's the only Transformers character voiced by the same actor in multiple languages; Bumper Robinson is fluent in both English and German.
Yes, review Bumblebee, please! :) Transformers Animated is one of the best of the best eras of Transformers out there, great toys, great cartoon, great story, great designs, it's amazing! To me the definitive versions of the Transformers Characters are either the Animated ones of the Prime ones!
Great Review! You should check the Cybertron Line! One of the best, if not the best line. For the next Review, please do Either Skywarp or Ultra Magnus!
I didn't watch much of transformers animated but i loved the figure and i hope to see more on your Channel. I am New to your Channel so i don't know if you did make review on the old transformers prime toys but if you didn't i would love to see that !
I guess why not take a look at Swindle. I'm disappointed that the Combaticons haven't made their official live action appearance yet. The closest we've been to it is with 2007 and TLK with Brawl and Onslaught. But tbh, despite me not really liking the whole lanky esthetic of most Transformers in TFA, I don't think Swindle looks half bad. Though the use of clear plastic for joints doesn't seem like the smartest choice, right?
Hooray 🎉👏🥳! I knew it you will reviewing my most favorite Decepticon character in Transformers Animated, Blitzwing, the craziest Decepticon EVER 🤩! During my childhood, i always dreaming to get Animated Blitzwing 😌, but unfortunately i not manage to grab it 😞, i so happy you review this figure 😊. This figure does bring me a nostalgic feel during that time, i completely miss Transformers Animated toyline 🥲. Hopefully you review Animated Optimus Prime soon 😊. Transformers toy now a day not really a toy much to me because mostly do not have spring load mechanizim, made me not really happy to have Transformers figure much 😞. Great video, PrimevsPrime 🤗.
I say do the Leader Class Megatron. I bought one for like $80 and it's such an amazing piece in my collection. I love the Animated line and wish I could collect them all.
