I didn't really like the TR figure because of the gimmick lol. They should've atleast given him an extra titan master as an Animated reference

I don’t have a problem with that, I think in the show the jet has an area that looks like the treads on the toy so it’s kinda accurate to the show even if it’s weird.

It would look even better if maybe the wings were a little bigger

like the fake chest in many others... i think that they want to be more accurate in robot mode and less in vehicle mode. anyway, is a leader class of 50 euro, maybe they can make them more accurate without fake things...

This is Leader class? lol I have Siege Astrotrain and he's about the size of what deluxe figures were, at $10, back in 2000....

@@XENOS_Indie_Game_Dev Without the hulk hands he barely makes it to voyager. With those it is a voyager. So I am just as baffled. It's not a leader class. Also parts count and all does not justify it. I can tell you deluxe Tracks has more parts than voyager Blaster. Yet Tracks is a deluxe and Blaster is voyager. If anything it is just a rough estimate now. And figures get tossed around being a class definition. With Galvatron being rather large but not the same as what we got in CW and TR as leader class. Like the leader Seekers. Which are all bigger and do have a relatively high part count as well.

I don't think they are hands, just some kind of 6 barreled weapon for missiles or grenades. WFC Six-Gun/Cromar has a similar weapons part

The nose cone in the tank mode unfortunately is accurate to the G1 cartoon The jet mode feels like its missing somthing, and its possible that he has misstransformed it

There is a rocket launcher shield gun for bot that doubles as filler for rocket mode upgrade for WFC Astrotrain.

Astrotrain is improved in shuttle mode a lot by the 3rd party filler & tail piece - but the train mode is still really weirdly flat looking. Perhaps the main problem with these things is that they really are not worth £50+

Imo Astrotrain is an unfinished product. Blitzwing looks finished at least and for that is much better than Astrotrain.

Barricade. Ever since my introduction to him in the 2007 movie, he's always just kind of stuck with me for some reason. Plus I have fond memories of owning a few Barricade figures when I was younger, and even listening to Pretty Handsome Awkward here and there, thanks to my Dad

Design wise, and I mean, really caring to get ALL MODES look good, actually TR Blitzwing is superior, paint wise and making only the robot mode LOOK flawless, yeah I guess this one gets it, but at the cost of articulation, the other two modes and two pieces of useless nonsensical "accesories", oh and your wallet...

You aren't wrong, and neither is Frameworks. This Robot mode is more loyal to its animation model, and the tank looks arguably better. But the jet has much more kibble, and the transformation actually cheats fake wings out to the robot mode. Legacy or TR can outmatch each other depending on what you use to measure them

He’s also a good looking interpretation of his original Generation One appearance, there are only a few differences in the look. He’s one I’ll happily pick up too, I’m also planning on getting the Leader Dragon Megatron when he releases.

I agree but don’t understand the comparison with ultra Magnus earth mode. Magnus kingdom looks absolutely amazing in both modes. Very g1 accurate

@@dannyinformal I dislike earth mode Magnus quite a bit*. It is in my opinion a great flop. I loved the siege Magnus, as well as its remold for Prime. Both were very well thought out leader figures which were made of adequate voyagers. A couple of 3rd party addons for the legs and they were fantastic. Earth mode Prime (meant to be an update of G1) was one of the best Prime's they have ever made. While a voyager, it was a joy to transform and did an excellent job being what it was, and the trailer made the excellent voyager worth the leader price. Instead of an earth Magnus of equal quality, we get a remold that, in my opinion, (and I cannot stress the word opinion enough!) looks like the illustrated image of compromise. It looks like a transformer built by a committee whose only goal is to figure out the exact dollar amount they could spend to evoke the image of a G1 Magnus while trying as hard as they can to get their money back for a mold they don't feel they have got their investment back from. The truck mode is half an earth cab and half kibble. Fists are fine when you hide them under a trailer on Cybertron, but on earth they are a dead giveaway back there. I already have that voyager, I have 2 of them and they do a fine job being cybertronian. I would love to have a earth mode Prime colored as Magnus... but if you are making me pay for a leader, that trailer has to at least fit a deluxe car in it, if only the mini deluxes: Cliffjumper and Bumblebee, and I need it to swivel. This Blitzwing feels like they promoted that committee. *I may have too strong of feelings on that figure for polite company. I am sorry.

@@omnimoribund5229 I think he's pretty decent, definitely better than that Siege crap but that's just because I personally never like the crappy Cybertron models; they've always just been ugly sci-fi versions of earth vehicles with bumblebee as an exception. What they could've done better with Magus(and I admit it's a big one) is to make everything transform into one robot, rather than going the G1-esque "the trailer updates the robot" route. Other than that, he looks absolutely fantastic in robot mode and suffers slightly in alt mode.

@@dannyinformal Huh amazing? The robot mode yes, the vehicle mode yuck. The figure doesn't even have a functioning trailer. He is my best Magnus so far so he's there. But if they made a Magnus looking as good in bot mode with a functioning trailer mode I'd replace him in a heartbeat.

He definitely looks like a must have, he’s really faithful to G1 which is cool and that tank and jet modes are just perfect. I’ve also heard that he’ll be in wave 3, possibly because Hasbro feel like he’ll sell out when wave 2 is revealed?

@@RichterX83, the price of the figure is a bit of a stretch but even still it looks good enough for the money. I will agree though that Hasbro are slightly pushing it by making their leaders voyager scale and still charging £5 to £10 more than that class’s price range. Though they make up for it by making the transformations more complex, giving them more accessories and using quite an abundance of plastic.

With the amount of flippy swively bits on this guy I’m sure that’d be true

If anything perhaps the shoulders & tank threads could be place next to each other rather than stacked under the jet wings. The TR's arms being made of the tank threads allowed the arms & threads stash away under the wings with less vertical & horizontal space.

HEAVILY disagree, Legacy Blitzwing blows TR blitz out the water, better paint, no stickers and none of that headmaster gimmick crap

@@marioexe2516 Oh god i forgot about those stickers. Mine peeled off so fast i just removed them and forgot they existed. I love the mold otherwise though. All 3 modes are good and i like the Titan Master pilots myself.

I agree that the paint apps are much better on the Legacy release. I will take tampograh paint apps over stickers any day of the week. I am sure the joints will be tighter and the ankle rocker a welcome addition on the new release as well. I just think the aesthetic of the TR Blitzwing looked better and more like the G1 toy... especially the jet mode. To each their own. Simply my opinion.

A ER jet looks about 3/8 longer than TR Blitzwing in jet mode. Otherwise more than 1/4 inch & less than 1/2 inch longer.

Legacy blitzwing scale is just little shorter than megatron, so just medium size

Actually i find the Tankmode to be weak. That sticky-outy cockpit just looks garbage..

I think the tank mode is pretty accurate to the g1 design. Think it had that cockpit in front

@@sumoking3002 copying bad stuff from the G1 design doesn't make it good. Keep the G1 aesthetic if that is the intention but don't be so slavish or lazy to keep the bad parts of the design.

@@sumoking3002 you're right it did, but not sticking out quite so far from what i can tell looking at pictures of him. the jet mode is not right at all however, it is too bulky in the back, and not bulky enough at the front. they really should have done better for the price point.

We will not be getting a legacy astrotrain, and sincw wfc and ss86 are meant to go hand in hand with each other, it's incredibly unlikely that we'll see an original ss86 mold. Perhaps a repaint like with cliffjumper in buzzworthy bumblebee

I thought the same about the tank mode, but going back and looking at the G1 cartoon, that canopy DOES jut out a little from the tank

Ever since John Warden left, Hasbro started with replacing screws for flat headed hard to reach pins, they started with "sacrificing" alt modes in favor of robot mode accuracy and they have increased prices all over, screwing the overseas buyer worst of all.... Warden kept a balance between budget and desing, he managed to get the accuracy "sacrifices" distributed and thus of lesser visual impact, not all of them concentrated on the alternate modes like eye sores, he keept the screws... the guy knew about third party upgrades, damm he gave them a market, he made the bussiness more an ecosystem, you really could choose when he was in. He left and everything started to rot.

It was like that on the g1 toy and in the g1 cartoon,so it’s probably supposed to be “g1 accurate” but if they wanted to be fully cartoon accurate they should have put the tank barrel on the back of the head.

That’s how it always was, on the G1 toy and on the cartoon… that’s why they had a faux cockpit just to put there. It’s completely on purpose.

Especially if you get the Takara LG version. Show accuracy is frankly secondary to me, mostly because the first Blitzwing I think of is Animated's, but on the G1 design, I kinda like the lighter purple that just happens to be the show/movie accurate color. Like you said, each do things better than the other. But other than needing him to be potentially shorter than my RTS Lugnut until they make a proper Leader Grimlock-sized fig of him later on, while this Blitzwing is pretty dang good, I'm personally happy with my Takara Legends one as well

You're right, I forgot LG Blitzwing was the best one out of the two, not having to worry about peeling its foil stickers. I think the lighter purple is better too, and the way LG implemented the tan in its design is cleaner (such as the fully tan colored turret) wish he wasn't so tricky to get in the west

It would really crush my hopes for Menasor if these end up becoming the lower arms. The lack of articulation plus the horrible red plastic with purple paint would ruin the combined mode of Menasor. Also completely agree about the tank kibble under the wings.

@@PrimeVsPrime, waves 2 and 3 will be the ones which do the most damage to my wallet. That leader Blitzwing as well as the upcoming BW Dragon Megatron will be my must haves. For deluxe figures it will be Wildrider, Deadend, Prime Knockout, BW Tarantulas and finally for voyagers Armada Starscream. These are all the ones I’m aiming to get in waves 2 and 3 of Legacy, wave 4 might not be that interesting to me.
