Shockwave has always had my respect! He's a Military operations commander that turns into a space gun. He's very scientifically minded and invented the Duocons, Triple Changers, clones, and Predacons (in TF Prime). He was never one of my favorites but I always found him to be an amazing character. Now I own the Dark of the Moon toy with the red eye, Alternators Shockblast, Combiner Wars MicroWave, and Nitro Zeus; who is a big fan of our disciple of logic. Some consider him to be a mad scientist, but he waited for Megatron for over 4 million years, keeping Cybertron safe basically all by himself. "Fear not Lord Megatron, Cybertron shall remain as you leave it." And he remained true to his word for FOUR MILLION YEARS. That's insane!
i mean no war he had free time and he could do almost anything while megatron woke up to battle optimus after 4 million years and dont forget hes a warrior in his own right
Talk about little-known powers. It deserves to be stated on every version of this theme: his clones are not made-up. It's a little-known piece of lore for Shockwave from the original series bible that was never used till now. He can make clones of himself on Cybertron only.

It's like that one kid that says something is a certain way then when you ask for proof he's like "because my dad said so, he works there!" I remember my friends who don’t know transformers that well watch me fight him and when shockwave transformed one of them yells “OH SHIT HES A GAT, HES A GAT!” Classic
That's the point. He sees himself as one of Cybertron's saviors, hence the heroic theming to his song (as implied by the words said during his fight about saving Cybertron and just doing what he believed Nova Prime commanded)

This song fits so well after reading about his history in the IDW comics. More "tragic hero" than "mad scientist and sometimes guy who takes over when Megatron goes on some harebrained adventure."
It is more G1 based, but there are IDW influences, like Nova Prime, he's from the IDW comics, so I classify Devastation as it's own universe and time line. That and if this were truly G1, Megatron would still be a gun, but thankfully he's not and this game is a bit better since it does take influences and do it's own thing.
Yes, Motormaster and Menasor too take their look from their Combiner Wars version more than their G1 self, and we even have a little hint about Optimus Maximus in the end
The game is set in the Combiner Wars universe. It hints to Optimus Maximus at the end of the game, and all Combiner in game are based off their Combiner Wars selves. Combiner Wars is part of the IDW timeline, so Devastation is a part of the IDW continuity.
No, it just takes inspiration for some things by IDW continuity, but it's his own, things happen differently, for example Nova Prime's backstory is a bit different, the Proudstar in IDW continuity doesn't exist, and we are hinted in Devastation that Optimus will undergo modifications to become a combiner, while in IDW continuity he becomes one against his will when exposed to the Enigma of Combination by Prowl. Furthermore, some characters are their G1 cartoon self instead of their IDW version, like Grimlock
Honestly, if you put Shockwave's backstory anywhere near his IDW incarnation and fight him as Optimus, it makes a lot more sense why this track's so reminiscent of X Versus Zero from MMX5.
Shockwave’s head looks strangely like a No Man’s Sky Sentinel drone. He’s the Sentinel of Cybertron and now i can’t unsee it. Hell forbid G1 Shockwave really was the actual inspiration for the Sentinels
ReticularTunic7 This song was made in 2015 though. Although the composer for this game (Vince DeCola) composed the 1986 Transformers movie and Rocky IV.
It's-a me, Megatron I know that but when I mentioned that "I love the 80's" the song has a 80's rock influence and this game is based on G1 transformer

Starscream91 I didn't really grind when I 1st started, as I just leveled up Bumblebee with whatever EXP that I had. Being Bumblebee probably had something to do with it as well, since his combos and car ramming attacks are very easy to abuse. This will probably change since I'm on Commander now as Wheeljack. They definitely aren't kidding around with Commander being harder.
