Transformers LEGACY Evolution Deluxe Class BOMBSHELL Review 

And now the trio has officially been completed.

I like the simple charm of the Insecticons transformed, but the robot mode is definitely the best way to display these guys.

I do wish that they could’ve given Bombshell his own mold of legs, because they’re using Shrapnel as the base for the legs the back of the Insect Mode isn’t as rounded off as it should be as well as having inaccurate feet sticking out. Other than that, I think this figure is pretty solid 👍🏻

My personal favorite insecticon has always been Bombshell. It’s not just from his design though, I loved his personality in g1 and the fact he could control other bots with his cerebro shells was so cool!

Finally all three of the insecticon trio together! They look great, can’t wait to have in hand. Looking forward to potential releases of the other 3 deluxe Insecticons after ransack

I honestly like the goofy nature of the insecticon alt modes where they're less insects and more like bricks

Missed opportunity for a blast effect that looks like he's launching a cerebal shell that he uses for turning Autobots and fellow Decepticons into mind slaves. Would be cool like Cyberverse starscreams missile blast effects

The Insecticons in Legacy were by far the best releases for the characters in ages, I like the look of this Bombshell figure. I might actually go back and get Kickback so that I can get the complete set before they discontinue.

If Hasbro does approach the insect icons again in the near future and also do their own take on them, I’m hoping we can get something that’s more in line with their designs in the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games.

Been anticipating this video! Insecticons are my favorite faction! Great review, bro. I agree that Bombshell looks really clean, but I gotta give it to my boy, Kickback. With Bombshell being rehashed with Shrapnel's lower half it really makes me feel like Kickback's design is more unique out of the Insecticon figures.

Great video, PVP! Note: Thankfully there isn't a high risk of assembly/packing error (on a global scale) on this bug as on Shrapnel (who often came/comes with 2 same-side back insect legs/smaller purple guns (marked as #1 & #4 and #2 & #3 at the inner-middle part of the gun which should have been packed in swapped combinations). In other words, when we form the (cough) 'Evo-Fusion' mode superweapon, the waffles should all not be on one side. (You can spot the difference (being left or right) on the insect legs at the very top/tip of the weapon.)

I'm glad we got the names back. Hardshell & Sharpshot are cool names, but not the OG monikers.

Hi PVP, Thank you for this review. Given that they are what they are I am glad I can complete my collection of the Insecticons. This is a must as I have the other two. Like you I hope they come out with updated versions later on, but for now I will try to pick this one up.

I hope they do a reissue for Chop Shop, Venom & Barrage since we already got a reissue for Ransack.

Imagine if these 3 can combine into the TFP G1nified Insecticon.

Got him for Christmas. Now I have the 3 G1 Insecticons and the Legacy ones. Awesome!

I'm really looking forward to getting Bombshell as soon as he's available over. I also love the head design. And to be fair, almost every 80s transformer was basically a brick in bot mode as well.

Out of the three, this was the one I was excited for. Sure, I still got kickback, (and maybe get Skrapnel, but not likely) but still.

I can’t choose a personal favourite Incecticon because all 3 look amazing together and hopefully in the near future they’ll be rereleased as part of the ‘86 line as a 3 pack

He works also well with all the 5 dead Decepticons meet Unicron

I'm fine with them using the same engineering for the legs but it was very lazy not to remould them to give them bombshell's more curvy outline. That was one of his distinctive features imo.

The alt-mode might be very impressive, but let´s face, it super-accurate ones were needed at this point. And I´d only want them to have more articulated bug legs as improvement.

Wow, I wasn't planning to collect the insecticons, but this guy looks too cool, and I had the original when I was a kid, which is kinda pushing me to want to grab this guy.

I'm looking forward to having all three of the original Insecticons, after nearly 40 years of only having G1 Shrapnel I will finally have all 3 when this guys pre-orders go up

My favorite Insecticon is Shrapnel but only slightly. I love all 3 characters. Definitely one of my favorite subgroups. I hope we get Chop Shop, Barrage, and Venom as well as the Insecticon trio in the diaclone colors. Ill pair them off with the Dinobots as rivals on my shelf.

You need to finish kickbacks look off when comparing them in insect mode by giving him them 2 joined together purple accessories to make his thorax or whatever you call it but great review once again

He's noteworthy in that he may be the last of the Season 1 and 2 Decepticons that needed an update in the modern scale in aesthetic, completing the line. Well, besides maybe Octane. But his Takara Legends release is probably good enough.

Playing Forged to Fight has me attached to Kickback the most.

good review. bombshell completes the set for the insecticons. the head scalp could be a bit rounder. at the moment it looks like smooth top but the sides make his head looks like a square.

I think the only thing left for the insecticons would be some sort of combiner between the three of them. They're simple enough that it probably could be engineered with very little sacrifice to the insect mode transformation, and maybe only losing waist articulation from one of them.*

They're definitely going to repaint/remold these guys and have the chest parts open. They wouldn't bother with that engineering including the pin otherwise.

Is the chest window actually glued or is is just clipped in place like on Kickback? It's a massive pain to do but Kickback's window can be modified to open up if you slice off the three clips. I have no idea about Shrapnel's chest though. Bombshell and Shrapnel are certainly bricks in bug mode. I don't know if it's worth third party companies designing insect leg pieces for them or if it would be easier just to design peg-on tank tread pieces for them.

The three insecticon molds are perfect for new decepticon soldiers figures

At least on Kickback, you can modify the figure and get the hatch to open but it requires some work (anyone can do it with a sharp enough hobby knife and then file down some uneven edges). Don't know if it also works for Shrapnel and Bombshell.

Bombshell is 1 of the coolest looking insecticons! I cant wait to get him! But i really want all 3 to combine together

My wishlist for future Transformers toys that Hasbro should make: R.E.D. Bombshell - A cartoon accurate figure of the Insecticon, including having a grey upper body instead of a purple one and fully grey colored thighs. Like his Legacy figure, his robot mode horn is blast effect compatible and like R.E.D. Ultra Magnus, who is mostly toy accurate and R.E.D. Shockwave with his purple hands and blaster, he has a toy accurate blaster. While the R.E.D. figures are mostly 6 inches tall, Bombshell by contrast is scale accurate with his Legacy figure. Studio Series Que/Dark of the Moon Wheeljack - A movie accurate figure of the pre-Rise of the Beasts Wheeljack from Dark of the Moon. One of his accessories include a figurine of a N.E.S.T. soldier, especially one of the ones he was talking to when showing his gadgets in the movie, with his backdrop being the said scene. Studio Series +/Gamer Edition Sideswipe - A game accurate toy of the pre-Robots in Disguise Sideswipe from the Aligned video games. I'm not sure what was his blaster during Soundwave's boss fight from War for Cybertron, but his other blaster included with him is the Path Blaster from Rise of the Dark Spark and Fall of Cybertron. Generations Selects Generation 2 Smokescreen - A retool of Needlenose, especially for the head. I'm not sure if he should still have Needlenose's Targetmasters, but he is meant to accommodate with Prime Universe Dreadwing, whose transparent red against the dark blue invokes the Generation 2 Dreadwing.
