Of course since this video was produced, retro audio media collecting is quite popular. Many musical artists also release their albums on vinyl and cassette these days, making jam box Soundwave more relevant than he's been since the 80s.
I was so lucky to get this years after release for $160. The prices for it now are crazy. I hope they rerelease this figure so more people can get their hands on it. It truly lives up to its name.
I think the best decision Hasbro/Takara made was keep the 1:1 scale in alt mode, so the tapes are real life size in both the original and MP. Even the fact that MP is about double in depth than it should be, it doesn’t bother much, it is a very nice figure.
I work for a radio station & the license plate of our remote broadcast van reads SNDWAVE. We even replaced the original hood ornaments with the Decepticon logo. 😂😂
I always did like the G1 version of Soundwave, on the series *and* as a toy. And I'm not sure how, but there's gotta be some connection between liking him and my enjoyment of music. 🙂
Even on the remaster you are afraid to admit that the "play" button on Soundwave's robo-bits is the real attraction. It's ok, having the first decade of our lives filled with these 30 minute toy commercials have left many 80's kids with weird fetishes. Play-button-crotch is probably the best you could hope for. The hardcore Entertech kids are currently in their bug out bunkers cleaning their arsenals, so a shelf full of transforming robots and your love of the feel of cold metal and polished plastic against your skin is probably the safest outcome for the rest of society.
I can’t seem to find a picture of that version anywhere I never knew it existed so I’d love to see how he would stack up against my Robot paradise acoustic wave
@@Ansem458 The only difference between the Takara and Hasbro versions is the Takara version has red eyes (like the G1 cartoon), whereas the Hasbro version has yellow eyes (like the original toy), otherwise they're identical 😊
@@Fenrir72 I have both the official version of mp Soundwave and I also have Robot paradise acoustic wave, and the 3rd party version is so much more heavier and higher quality
