Fun fact: while they are portrayed differently here, the Scraplets are a deep cut from the old Marvel G1 Comics (yes, that Marvel), in their original depiction they were vunerable to a chemical so rare that most cybertronians believe it doesn't exist- Dihydrogen Monoxide

I love this episode because it expanded the concept of cybertronian life. The idea that these scraplets existed on Cybertron and were fearsome pests there really makes bots more relatable to us.

"The kids are just there, they're not really needed" oh of all episodes to say this before. Edit: And yes, Cybertronians do engage in romantic relationships and even have a form of martiage called "Conjunx Endura", however, with Optimus and Arcee ut was more two old friends giving each other some comfort as they face death.

Ah the Scraplets, we learning more about the dangers Cybertronians had to face besides war. We'll see a few more but the Scraplets really stick out with how much the Bots were quaking at the sight of em, especially Bulkhead's vivid description on how they devour a Bot

Cybertronians are a feeling people. At least as much as humans. They felt so strongly they waged a planet wide civil war. And that planet's death didn't stop it. So yes, they can feel love too. Though Team Prime in this show is the platonic bond of comrades who've been through HELL and still remain. Of whom even the youngest hasn't seen home at peace in centuries. They're a family forged in fire, and almost all they have left.

This was the episode that got me hooked on the show. The episodes before this I liked, but this is one of my favorites of the whole series. Because they showcased a really interesting concept in Transformers lore. While not the debut appearance of the Scraplets, this was there was most defining appearance. Portraying as like metal piranhas or termites, even to a human those things are creepy as hell. This is the kind of stuff I wish we'd see in more robot stories. Also, you saying "Megatron...and this asshole" is a pretty perfect definition of Starscream, ngl, XD.

I think it was mentioned in WFC or FOC that Megatron is afraid of Scraplets as well. Shame we didn't get to have an episode of the Decepticons having their own troubles with them. Would have been hilarious

Yeah the bots can have relationships Optimus did have a romantic interest in elitea one aka Ariel back before he became Optimus and they did fight side by side against the cons back in the day and elita one in some versions of transformers mainly revenge of the fallen Arcee and Elita were sisters with Elita being the older sister and Arcee the younger one and in g1 Optimus and Elita were lovers before the war and I think Arcee and Optimus are more father daughter also that thing they used to get to the Antartica is called a ground bridge

The Transformers do have romances and actually can reproduce. You have G1 with Arcee and Springer as a couple and in other series of Transformers. I feel like this episode is a homage to John Carpenter’s The Thing in some ways.

I don’t think Optimus and arcee liked each other like that, it’s not in the show (although it almost kind of was) but Optimus, if he does have a relationship (which is uncommon), it is usually with thr character Elita 1

13:24- There’s not going to be any form of romantic relationship with the Autobots, though I believe there will be some on the humans but nothing so serious and won’t be brought up til a couple of seasons later.

Earthspark wasnt really bad for its age range. And I havent seen the Latest movie yet but the trailer actually seems pretty fire. Plus its nice to for once see Megatron before hes evil

@@erikbihari3625 Not sure what a non-binary in transformers does to hurt it... The idea that this is post-war show where Megatron did a smart move to save his deceptions makes it a good topic. As for the movie, aside from the voice cast which I'm already used too. A PRE-war movie that (appears)to follow a storyline with the 13 primes is definitely worth it. The humor wasn't bad and again it's interesting to see another plot where Megatron isn't the antagonist.

A;Even though transformers by definition shouldn't have genders, they we're in a meta sense, made for our appeal, and frequently there's narrative weight behind their"humanity"(not to mention in universe justification ending disasterously). Lacking gender is not only a very INhuman trait, but feels like a marketing descision to appeal to a specific crowd of people, who never been interested in this property before and if that particular show ends, then back to square one, but are fundamentally so self absorbed that there's very little setting them apart from the"german predacessors"and if we continue to offer them more milestones, humanity is As good as dead! B;There's plenty of outlets for your desire(beast wars,japanese transformers,robots in disguise 2.0,ect), but that particular movie shouldn't be one of them due to the shoddy writing! The action is c.g.i. noise that's not particularly exciting or visually appealing,the characters are even more paper thin,the plot makes zero sense and recycled the worst bits from the previous movies,and just like Percy Jackson sea of monsters introduced the Final boss in level 2, Two! The transformers movie franchise is good and dead because the purist assumed everything wrong with them was"not like G1"just like the Star Wars prequels, but a franchise can't survive by retreading the same ground and appeasing the uncritical fans who's brain it lives rent free in, it has to change and evolve, and what's the fundamental constant in"TRANSFORMers"? I recommend better with bob's gi Joe rise of cobra defense, because he had some good points.
