I thought he said that in the original episode, but I was confused when it wasn't there as I rewatched it. This is an amazing reason for that difference.
I remember hearing that the technical reason for Megatron's eyes being what they were during the "Do you take me as a fool?" scene was because for that shot, they had the camera on Starscream's face but had Megatron's eyes look at Starscream's. Problem was, their eyes aren't exactly in the same spot, and caused the one eye to have a lazy eye look. Don't know if that's true, but that's the rumor I heard.
That could be a possibility of how the animation team could explain it. But one I think of is because of course it is so much time between the first episode hes seen in compared to when he makes his return, we could of possibly upgraded his gun to be more efficient, after all, it's only logical.
@@shadoruto6679 yes correct! Before they enter the space bridge Shockwave's cannon sound in the flashback stays the same. It only changes one he returns in season 3.
A really obscure technical error, In "Project Predacon", when Soundwave goes against Optimus, he deploys Laserbeak while in midair, but once he lands, laserbeak is still on his torso. It isn't until AFTER the bone is retrieved, Laserbeak comes back to his chest to retreat. Just a small thing I noticed, since I really like Soundwave 😅
I have no idea why I was so happy you mentioned the fact that Darksteel and Starscream, along with syklinx and Smokescreen were voiced by the same person, (Steve blum, and Nolan North) but I did xD
Stuff like that happens when animators _care_ enough to put the extra work in. Even Beast Wars has added some stuff that rightfully puts the War For Cybertron guys to shame (like Rhinox's beast mode's briefly seen _pulsating anus_ in the episode "The Low Road").
I’ve also noticed that Optimus might have 2 models. Randomly, his windshield will have 2 red pieces stick up behind it. While most of the time, his windshield covers these pieces.
To be honest, with the Starscream eye trivia, I never really noticed his eye color technical issue. And Starscream is my favorite character in this whole series, so when he’s on screen… I pay attention.
In scrap heap, when Optimus and Arcee are laying in the snow, Optimus rotates his arm and the snow just doesn’t give a crap and stays right where it is. Stubborn snow.
I always thought Starscream proclaiming invincibility in his shadowzone flashback and him twitching on the table was something a lot of people noticed.
This video is meant to be mostly things you can notice yourself when you watching the show or looking at the art. It wouldn’t be fair to put up Japanese clips and play spot the difference (and assume people can hear the differences)!
The split back wheel for Arcee isn't unusual since it's a part of her transformation in both versions of her Deluxe Class toy. (Although I'm sure you're squeeing over the non-transforming Robot Enhanced Design version of her that's out there now).
One thing i noticed is that in the episode orion pax 2 after optimus regains his memories while he is jumping through the portal you can see an autobot insignia on his shoulder but in the next scene after he goes through the portal it goes back to being a decepticon insignia
I noticed two animation errors in the first few episodes of season 3. 1. During the scene where Raf and Bumblebee find Ratchet in the scrapyard, one of Bumblebee's door wings disappears briefly. 2. During Jack and Arcee's conversation about the Autobots being "scattered to the winds", Arcee's back wings, too, disappear. I can never unsee these errors and I wonder how such a thing wasn't caught, considering how good quality season 3 is on the animation front.
There's actually one I found today while skimming through season 1. In 'Stronger,Faster' (Sorry I forget the number-) after Ratchet drives away towards Megatron, we see Bumblebee drive through the groundbridge. But Bee was the one in charge of the groundbridge and Ratchet didn't throw him out if the base, so there's not really any possible way for Bee to drive through the groundbridge.
A few more The transformation sound used in Episode 6 is the sound used in Rescue Bots. Adding on to that in the RB episode “Bumblebee to the Rescue” when the bots are transformed and stuck in their vehicle modes they make an altered version of the Prime sound effect. In one of the promo images, Megatron’s thigh plates on his left leg are passing through his torso. The transformation sound used for Predaking in “Evolution” was a sort of enhanced version of the regular sound, yet never used again after that episode. I wish they kept it, would’ve made him and the other Predacons a bit more different.
05:22 Ouch. I did notice that he added the "I am invincible!" in Patch and thought it was odd. Additionally, in Shadowzone, his voice echoes, but it doesn't echo in Patch, although that could be because one is real and the other is a memory? Also, in "Chain of Command", when the Cons feel the rumblings of Predaking's return to the ship, Starscream's leg is transparent, and you can see Megatron's fusion cannon through it. This video was fun! :D ALSO ANOTHER THING: In "Darkness Rising, Part 3", when Optimus and Ratchet arrive in the valley with dead bots, there's a purple object on the ground that looks a lot like Dark Energon, though without the eerie glow. It may not be noticable at first, but once you spot the purple, it actually stands out quite a lot. www.deviantart.com/zorathetwilightdrake/art/Is-That-Dark-Energon-677913454 Maybe some kind of mutated "Purple Energon" with unique effects? I decided to take that Energon and put it in one of my stories and give it a special and important role. It's also still there in "Darkness Rising, Part 4", if you look closely, in the same spot.
I did know that about Steve Blum voicing both Starscream and Darksteel did you know that he also did the voice for a character named Darkscream In the 2001 RID series?
@@Boom__6678 Yeah if they make another live action pokemon movie and put Team Rocket in it. If they can't get his regular voice actor from the anime I would kind of like to see Steve Blum do Meowth. Just to see what his take on the character would sound like.
I don't know if I was just hearing things, but in Optimus and Megatron's battle in "One shall fall", Megatron draws his blade to meet Prime's, but you hear a blast sound effect instead of the one usually used for his sword. Just something I noticed once and can never un-hear...
Another detail regarding the blades of Optimus and Megatron: All the way back in Darkness Rising, Part 5, Megatron chopped off part of Optimus's right sword, a bit of damage that persists until the Autobots permanently obtained the Forge of Solus Prime, after which its repaired
I think the only one I noticed was the red patches on Starscream's legs. When I first started rewatching Prime, I thought it was weird I didn't notice those before. But I guess I was just used to seeing him without them. For the Starscream eyes going full red thing, I thought that was the animators making a deliberate choice to try and make him look more big eyed and cute to try and make you sympathize with him. And in some cases, like when Arcee almost kills him, yeah, maybe that is what they were going for. But then again, in some others, it doesn't make as much sense and it probably is a mistake.
Ever since noticing how Dreadwing's thumb clips through Starscream's chest when he grabbed him before getting the Apex Armor, I've never been unable to unsee it.
@@emperorkumquat I guess :P Btw, JUST got into your channel with the awesome video of "Optimus Prime has Emotions" video. That was accurate as heck and will be super handy when trying to defend my favourite autobot against people 😄😁
4:12 I honestly thought The transformation noise in episode 6 was an easter egg or a callback to the original cartoon, because that's how it actually sounds in the 80's cartoon.
In the intro when the con got thrown, a squirrel dropped an acorn in my backyard onto a wheelbarrow and created a perfectly timed bonk sound that lined up perfectly with the footage
Some errors or changes that I have seen in Starscream are the palms of his hands, sometimes they are just black and other times grayish blue, with divisions similar to those of humans
A techinacal error that I found was that in season 1 ep 3 when megatron plucks a shard of dark energon and tells starscream "quit groveling and await my command" his right hand is missing the fusion canon and the forarm actually seems to have different detailing then the left one
Some things you missed, in the episode that introduced Hardshell Megatron's cannon is on the side of his arm rather than the top part of his arm in the introduction scene. This happens in one other scene as well but I can't remember which. Another very common error that is in almost every episode where a map of the United States is shown is that Louisiana gets clipped inside Texas. It happens in like every season I almost think it was just a running joke at some point.
Interesting about Knockout's healing ability at 9:25 without certain tools. I might include it in a new Transformers fanfiction series I intend to write. Heck, I might even include a small joke of him saying "I have the Touch," or "the magic touch" which would be perfect if Daran Norris voices him for another project.🥊👊🏻🤟🏻
I once asked my English teacher whether there was going to be any trivia from the book we were studying called "Smith's Dream" in the exam and he was infuriated that I called the facts about the book "trivia" and scorched me alive with his lecture. I just walked up to him and asked calmly and he set me ablaze. And then told me "No, there isn't going to be any trivia in the exam." At the time I was humiliated but looking back on it, it was hilarious.
7:45 Ah yes the legendary Steve Blum and Nolan North, not actually that surprising if you're familiar with these names. 8:09 Not a name I'm familiar with but looking her up, she's a fairly prolific actress in her own right, both on-screen and in voice performances. Her earliest role credited on IMDB is Pudding from Space Channel 5 (a role reprised in Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed) and she voiced Katana in Beware the Batman, Mystique in X-Men Destiny, Mera in Justice Leauge: Throne of Atlantis, Mantis in GotG The Telltale Series, Shi Long in Kung Fu Panda: Paws of Destiny and a whole bunch more
Also a brief error in two of the episodes: In the end of TMI when Bulk wakes up, you can see very briefly that Optimus still has his mask up. This also happens in one more episode, but I cannot remember which one.
Something I noticed was when Megatron got his arm cut off by optimus, at one point in a later episode (I don't remember which) it showed him with his normal arm back on again and then a little later showed him missing an arm until he officially got it reattached.
6:14 there were actually more vehicons body types, there was a tank, an oil truck, and a helicopter, they weren't present in the show but they were in a tie in video game
Since it is just the video game, I could not include it as “things you can notice in TFP( the show”. And the game is for fun and isn’t to be considered canon either. However, the helicopter vehicon is my favourite of all the designs!
In Tunnel Vision, if you see the fight between Arcee and the Insecticon in 0.5× speed you'll have to keep watching Arcee to notice missing back doors and black blasters
There is an animation error In season 3 episode 12, when Predaking was beating Ratchet, Predaking held Ratched by the shoulder and Ratchet held his wrist but there was a part from Predaking’s arm floating and not connected with him
11:56 This event was in Exodus and the WFC comic BTW so people who read those already know this. 12:10 Also in Exodus and is actually a reference to the IDW Bayformers comics as well.
Are you sure Starscream's eyes are a technical error? I always thought that was just his pupils expanding to take in more visual data in a stressful situation and to better show his emotions to the audience.
The thing with the eyes could be a render error. If any of you used Blender/SFM you know how models can end up "shiny" and when reloading the program end up without that glistening shine. Light can end up blurry and quite honestly 3D animation can have itself things going horribly,HORRIBLY wrong. But different software, different glitches. Sincerely hope it wasn't as bad as...some other.
I'm actually wandering if Starscream's patchy legs are indeed a technical issue, cause the patchiness reminds me of when you apply the wrong texture to a piece of the model. I've done this by accident myself a few times and the results are always interesting. Things can get scrunched up or stretched depending on the shape of the model and that honestly to me looks like what is going on with his legs. All the wear and scratches on the metal texture are gonna get scrunched/stretched which would make his legs look even more messy. What also makes me think this is a error is the fact that no where else on his body is patchy like that, all his other body pieces look like they are made of one piece of metal. Whereas the legs looks like they are made of several pieces of different metals welded together. For story telling that would be a neat way to hint that maybe this character has received a lot of damage of the years and has just been patched up (welded up?) over and over again, but since it's seen no where else on his body I suspect it is not an intentional detail, but in fact a mistake.
Just a little detail that I haven’t seen anyone bring up yet (unless I haven’t looked far enough) is Knockout’s eyes glitching or flashing briefly when he gets pepper-sprayed.
I'm still mad they changed the foot step sounds for the third season. They don't sound as weighty as before. Same goes for Shockwave's cannon. They replaced it with a stock sound effect.
At 10:56, Starscream's eyes start red, then as the camera shifts downward, his eyes turn purple, and when he moves forward they're red again. It happens at 11:06 too. I slowed it down and technically the changes happen a fraction of a second before he shifts, but it's close enough.
At the "what is the name of the Autobot base" bit, I recalled Ratchet saying "Omega One". I'm now unsure as to whether he actually _did_ say that at some point cause you used the part of Optimus saying it.
One particularly infuriating example of mistakes in Predaking’s fangs/mandibles is his Ultimate class Beast Fire Predaking toy. Literally every single fang attached to the toy’s lower jaw, giving him a strange underbite and an upper jaw with no teeth when the toy’s roar gimmick is activated.
